in order:
- no, certainly not.
- im sure some do, but if they do, it's in very small, moderate amounts
- he's high as a kite and sitting on his ass skipping class, they're actually making something of themselves?
- this question made no sense. No, I am not special
- obtaining enough wealth to comfortable support my family while having a creative impact on the world (without sacrificing integrity anywhere along the way)

I know plenty of very successful people that partake. Doctors, lawyers, accountants, college calc professors, corporate big wigs, etc. I also know plenty of people living in the lower realms of the social ladder that don't partake at all. There isn't really a solid correlation between usage and success in life. It's all about drive and desire. Just because one indulges in the devil's lettuce doesn't mean that they can't make something of themselves.

I've been at it for 15 years now and have completed college, grad school (#1 in my class/claim), and have a professional career. You just have to stay on top of your game. Don't be one of those people that smokes themselves retarded all day every day. Handle your shit. Keep your priorities straight, and it won't matter that you blow a little sticky every now and again.

I can give you the current definitive scientific answer (keeping in mind that science is constantly adapting).

Does pot use go hand in hand with success in life? No, it doesn't. It has not been shown to be causative in academic success, artistic success, or social success. Nor has it been shown to be causative in academic, artistic, or social failure.  

How many self made men and women smoke? Polls are notoriously unreliable, especially regarding something like marijuana in which there are many factors that would cause an individual to be dishonest. However, I think a general answer would be most of them at some point in their lives, and a much smaller fraction that smokes on a regular basis (though still a significant amount of people).

What's the difference between those people and your buddy that's high as a kite all day everyday? It's impossible to say. There's no such thing as a "typical stoner" everyone has their reasons, and the psychology behind each person's choices is very complex. The same can be said for people who choose not to smoke.

What's the difference between you and him? Again, the answer is very complex and marijuana use plays a very small role in what determines the choices one individual makes vs. the choices another individual makes.

My definition of success is living a life of virtue -never harming others and helping them when you can- and surrounding yourself with friends and family who share those values; having open and honest relationships where conversations go beyond sports and the weather.

everything in moderation. there is a time and place for weed. most people smoke at least a little when they're young. also we all know smoking weed won't ruin your like. i do have to say though, most people i know who smoke a lot, and would consider themselves stoners, are fucking losers. they spend 40-50 or more bucks a day on weed, skip class, get terrible grades, stay at home all the time, and don't get out and meet anybody/make friends. living like that they will definitely not go anywhere. that being said, i think smoking a little is pretty much harmless

well my 59 year old co-worker has been smokin since he was 16 and got kicked out of the air force for having a pound. so i would say thats pretty successful

I don't smoke, but I think that the correlation between smoking weed and being successful is spurious. Successful people will most likely be successful whether or not they smoke, and those who wouldn't be successful anyway either smoke or don't smoke and it doesn't make a difference.

Unless you're an artist of some sorts, that I have no clue.

In short: A lot of People that smoke and are lazy, unproductive, irresponsible etc. would be that way even if they didn't smoke. There are plenty of people out there that smoke, even on the reg, that have steady jobs, even families, are responsible, intelligent, hard working people.

it doesn't directly help, but it can directly hinder. and this isn't coming from some kid who's never even seen weed, or somebody who doesn't know anybody who does. my dad used to be high all day every day and still made ~150k a year, and at that time he was working fourteen hours a day seven days a week doing marketing research. he still does the same, doesn't smoke anywhere close to as much, and still makes roughly the same amount working 3-8 hours a day five days a week tops. they are not related in any way, and i know people who are richer than anybody could imagine and smoke weed on a regular basis, and people in the same financial position who have never touched it, as well as people in the lower class coming from both sides of the spectrum.

I think it honestly completely depends on the person. Does weed prevent some people from being successful? Yes, but I think the majority of those people were weak to begin with. Plenty of people can smoke weed and maintain productive lives, but there are some people that allow weed to consume their lives and become drains on society. I think the people who let weed consume their lives are the minority, however.

You'll never get the right answer until you ask the right question. What is success? Similar to asking why people smoke weed is asking what people deem as being successful. It's all up to the individual. Though in this situation I'd say there's no correlation between people that smoke and the amount of success they have. With that said, maybe there is--someone might say their relatively simple life is a success because they are happy and enjoying it; others in the same situation might say they are unsuccessful because their idea of success is different.

Totally subjective and no hard definitive answer. Though you could base it off of one person's definition of success and compare that with whether or not an individual smokes weed a lot and then you might have an answer, though it's obviously not representative of society as a whole, and thus has no statistical significance.

I work at a tennis club in one of the country's most affluent areas, the amount of hedge fund managers, super rich finance men, business men...etc-all talk about how they use to smoke and how they need to start again in they have recently stopped

It's pretty obvious that success and weed go hand in hand.

Here's why.

-Weed makes you smarter. It's because when you smoke it furthers your depth of perception by expanding your mind to totally different trains of thought.

-More educated people have been shown to more actively pursue altered states of consciousness. This goes hand in hand with my previous point.

-If you take marijuanas regularly, scientists have shown that it promotes new brain cell growth. This means more room for bigger thoughts, etc.

My brother is a D1 Rugby player and gets a's and b's at temple U and smokes every single day. and he deadlifts so yeah hes kinda big and extremely fit so in no way can it hurt you in anyway if you don't let it, well maybe a lil loll

For me weed does one thing, turn me into a fucking burnout.

I have an addictive personality, and am completely unable to regulate the amount that I smoke, drink, or whatever. Smoking bud has done one thing to my life, and thats fuck shit up.

Smoking weed and my inability to stop using got me kicked out of two schools, and destroyed relationships with many friends, family members, and people in my life.

As much as I love blazing, and as much as I miss it, I dont do fucking anything when I burn...

As of today I havent smoked for 90 days, and thats the longest amount of time that I've gone without weed since I was 13 years old.

Right now, my life is fucking awesome. I'm going back to school next semester, making a shitload of money, and am actually able to enjoy life without having to light up.
