I should really re-read my posts before posting my grammar is bad sometimes. I disagree that any rights are being trampled and agree with the guy who said privileges are being trampled. Ive got no problem with gays, people should be able to love and fuck whoever they want. and really i dont care if they raise a kid either, if they wanna raise a kid to be gay, "brainwashing" him into homosexuality, thats fine too, there are a lot worse ways to raise a child.
BUT, i understand why people dont accept it. it is not normal, its human nature to reproduce, which is only possible with the OPPOSITE SEX. attraction towards the same sex is most definitely abnormal.
and a lot of the people in this thread bashing the more reasonable anti-gay people, are sounding like cunts. its like if your not completely accepting of everybody, all the PC liberal fucks just loose all ability to think and resort to childish insults.

The Bible has been around for a mere 2000 years of human history, and gay people have been around literally for ever. And the bible has only really had an effect on gays in the past 200 years - with social benefits starting to come from marriage you end up with some people having more valued relationships.... Leads to prejudice, etc etc and you end up where we are now, recovering from an era of sexual repression. Maybe the 70s will come back, that would be cool. Free love, anarchy, and LSD. Yeahhhh

First of all, cant tell if trolling or being serious? So you're judging an entire community based on what you hear from a few people you have met and a guy posting on NS?
I have at least 9 gay friends (probably even more plus all the bisexual people I know, these 9 were just the ones popping up in my head now) and they do not fit the discription. Whatsoever. You know why? Because people are different. Its like saying "yeah well this one time I met this straight dude from Oklahoma and he was a complete douche, so all people from Oklahoma, must be douchebags".

And come on, "overly self absorbed, totally lacking in situational awareness"? And you pin point a member on this site, seriously, what is your problem? Go in any thread here on NS and you'll see basically any post could be classified as "self absorbed".

Your issue is that you probably havent met any homosexual people (I hate writing about "them" as they are some kind of different species), how old are you? If the kids you have met who happen to be gay fit your description its probably because they are insecure teenagers. We all have been at some point, so I dont really find your argument valid at all.

None of my gay friends run around telling people how awesome it is to be gay, how gay they are or in any way act like any of the stereotypic gays you see on TV (loud, flamboyant etc). Media just feeds us that image because apparently its fun. Its fun to ridicule the stylish and girly man. Most of my homosexual friends you couldn't even tell are gay from talking to them for an hour or so.

You probably know more gay people than you think, they've just decided to stay in the closet a little longer because they are afraid of how people will react and judge them, something I find very sad. To me, life is too short to deny who you are. Homosexuality is not illegal, just because gays happen to be a minority being persecuted by the church since the existance of a church does not mean it is wrong.

Also, I find it upsetting to hear that gay people are bad role models for children. I would not have mind growing up with homosexual parents, as long as I had loving parents who accepted me for who I am I would be pleased. A few people I know (including myself) have been brought up in heterosexual environments with narrow-minded parents who tell you how and what you should be like. To me, that is the biggest fault a parent ever could do, denying me who I am. If my parents could decide I know for a fact I would be a so much unhappier person than I am today, heck I would have probably gone on and killed myself back in HS. But then I learned its ok to be different. So should you.

My thoughts exactly...I also hated the comment "Forced to be growing up in that Environment" or something along those lines. These two gay men or women want a family so bad, and you think that they will not give this child a good up-bringing because they happen to be two men or women. That like saying, because you have this view on gays, you will not be a good role model towards your kids. Because of this view you shouldn't have kids and be put them through your environment......does that make sense?

everyone needs to respect one another. if you respect the people around you, they will respect you in turn. all you need to do is be nice to people, understand where they are coming from, and try to help them out occasionally. its the Golden rule, its the most basic thing taught to first graders, its in the bible, its in the quar'an, its in the teachings of the buddha, its in almost every ancient religion as well. just be nice to people. respect them. it isnt very difficult.

I have not once said i hate gay people. And i havent once made comments that put them down or make them less human. I said before just like i say now, just cause someone is gay does not make them anyless human than the rest of us. God loves gay people just as much as everyone else. certainly not it is the manner of that faith that i have a problem with.

if he was saying that god says we should love everyone and therefore everyone is equal, i would have no problem with this belief as it does not discriminate against a section of society.

Thinking negatively of a racist person is fine because that is a view that discriminates on a portion of the society. homophobia is exactly the same.

you respect someone who would discriminate a group of people... wow have a look at the morals here.

You need to create andnurture something, an idea, in your own mind. Essentially (in my eyes) an actof insanity. The faith and worship of these fictitious theories/supreme being is known to becalled religion. A sensational, personalized, worldwide defense mechanismagainst fear of the unknown. That is what religion is. I don't disagree with it, I don't think people like vince that follow religion are stupid or idiotic, in fact, vince has done a fair job of keeping up with this arguments dynamics. However, once you can truly contemplate why religion exists in the minds of its followers you will realize that these people are simply weak. They lack emotional the emotional strength great enough to apply logic and look at certain situations with pure subjection.

To everyone who may be angry or hateful towards vince, do not bother wasting your energy and time. He is just another weak, scared, and incompetent insignificant facet of the "christian faith".

No..... we do not have to "look at the morals here." I clearly said i disagree with Vince's views on homosexuality. However, he has every right to feel that way. Do i like that he does? NO. I have several gay friends and i want nothing more than them to find happiness with whomever they choose. BUT! if you go back and read AR6rides posts he clearly insults people solely for the fact that they are christian nothing more...."I choose to call you an idiot, but you are ignorant because you follow the Christian faith like a sheep and believe in things that your parents have taught you to believe from birth because you can't think for yourself." .....yes these are the words of a bigot...and an asshole. Once again...I never said he was ignorant for BEING a Christian, I said he was ignorant for following the Christian faith blindly because his parents have told him to do that since birth, and he can't think for himself. If his parents/church hadn't told him to follow the bible, would he still think homosexuality is wrong? Probably not, since the only reason he has stated for it being wrong is because he read it in the bible (which he's probably never read, but his parents/church have told him it says that).

I have really Lost the little respect I had for you in this thread. You make yourself look like the biggest asshole in the world. We all have our opinions and views and we are entitled to them, many feel that there is nothing wrong with being gay. There are many that do not including me. I really give a lot of credit to vince(even though he slapped a hooker) he held his opinion and never sunk to the level to assume why people believe things and calling them assholes for being a Christian. Now back to the op. does anyone else feel that a child is more likely to be gay by being raised by gay parents? If you say being brainwashed as a baby is a Christian thing what do you think the gay parents are doing? The first thing that baby is going to see is to men/women showing affection towards each other and then will think that is te normal. For me and many others tat is not ok. However just because the people are gay doesn't affect me as I don't let it to I could care less about whether you like girls or guys but when it comes down to the young child I feel that is wrong to "brainwash" him/her.
