I just wish Americans weren't so afraid of change.
The older population unfortunately has too large of a percentage of votes which in turn dictates how political representatives behave.
There's little doubt in my mind that same sex marriage and a number of other gay right measures would be passed if only people under the age of 40 were polled. So this in turn, to me at least, suggests its on its way but really? really? Get over the stigmatic, antique view of 'gays' and realize that much like the rest of the population gay people are diverse. Certainly I can understand why you wouldn't want kids raised by the most flamboyant gay man alive, but I certainly wouldn't want a child raised by the most conservative man alive either.
