I know you hate twixtor but..........

sorry to be this guy but in my personal opinion, the use of twixtor was very poorly executed. Maybe think about what you want to use twixtor on, while you are shooting, and pick something that would be interesting to shoot, and would look cool in super slow motion. Some guy flailing upside down is quite possibly the most boring thing i could think of to make slow motion.

Na thats fine, its your opinion and all feedback is useful. I do disagree with you though as I thought some of the shots were interesting. What is so different from my shots in slow motion to skiing shots in slow motion. Both are, as you said, someone falling upside down.

When you say poorly executed do you mean what twixtor was used on or the way I used it on the footage?

What do you recommend that you think would look good in slow motion thats not someone falling or doing a trick?

I thought that was amazingly done twixtor, any tips on the settings? mine always distorts a lot.

I didn't play around too much with the settings, but what I did do was start off by twixtoring the whole part of the clip that I though might look good, then I watch that back to see where it distorted then redid the clip so that only the smooth part was slowed down.

Also some good things to remember: shoot in 60fps (obvious), shoot with a high shutter speed, try to minimise the amount of stuff going on behind the subject of the slow mo (e.g. have the sky behind them or something with a fairly consistent colour and texture), also fast moving things are likely to warp (e.g. someone arm or hand being moved quickly).
