Cheap places to live in BC?

Not sure if those places have parks and if so its pretty minimal, but pow skiing will make up for that!

Haven't really heard anything about Kimberley other than it's kinda meh. Nelson and Golden are really really sick for pow and backcountry type stuff. And Nelson is one of the coolest towns ever. But nothing special about the parks from what I remember. Revelstoke was cheap for a while, but I think it's getting pricier now that everyone is finding out how sick it is. No park at revy though, at least not yet and probably not in the near future.

yeah I forgot to add in Kelowna into the consideration list. If I can find rent at about $800 or less and a good paying job that would be awesome.

there's nowhere really that has good skiing AND good park in BC, other than Whistler - but that shit ain't cheep.

Red's park is sadly the best in the koots I'd say, but that by no means makes it good.

Whitewater has a park, but I've never bother even looking at it when I'm there. I think it's just a few small rails and maybe a jump? Inbounds is slim but super fun, and the touring is choice!

Kimberley doesn't really have good skiing, and their park is just a few rails, no jumps.

Fernie is the same as Kimberley, but with pretty decent inbounds.

Kicking Horse has a small shitty park, just something to hit on your way down while doing gondola laps really, and lacking in the trees (but makes up for it with alpine chutes and cliffs).

Silver Star has best park imo, and fun groomers, but no proper mountain terrain

Big White - well, I haven't been there since I was a kid, so kind of a grey area for me. I could see rent in Kelowna being more expensive than the koots. They have a good park I guess, but their groomers aren't as fun as Silver Star... a bit better mountain terrain, but very limited.

Revelstoke - no park, sick alpine terrain, I've been told there's good trees, but all I've found are thick forests they call "glades" - and that's coming from a guy who skis Red.

Red - our park sucks compared to the Okanagan, but for the kootenays, it's ok, I guess. Our inbounds packs quite the punch, the touring is super dope. Down side - we don't get the storms that places like Revy, Whitewater, and Fernie get. Nobody's perfect.

As for Apex, Sun Peaks, and Panorama - I've never been to these places, but I wouldn't recommend any of them if you want to do some skiing, they all have good parks from what I hear, but Apex seams flat, Sun Peaks seams flat, and Pano just doesn't get very much snow from what I hear.

Look, anything's better than the floodway ditch park I ski now, I was looking to get more powder oriented anyways. Red's looking pretty good right now...

find a room for rent in nelson. Get some wide rockered pow skis. shred whitewater pow for a season. your life will change.

I had a ballin house in pemberton with 4 other buddies for 300 a month and whistler earlybird student pasees are like 400$ not bad id say

Best pow, tree skiing and terrain, and cheap as hell....Shames. But the park is non-existent, and the hill is kinda, really, small. But.....the terrain, snow and available backcountry is unbeatable.
