Any one else ever have an experiance similer to this?
So a couple weeks back my aunt brought up that she was working at a homeless shelter. My parents voulentered to help. Turns out it was on the 30th,my 16th birthday. So up till today I was pretty mad at my parents. Not only was I missing out on my license. I was missing out on going out yo earlt with my friends for my birthday. So today right after school i go to the shelter and do small things, pass out bread, refill glasses and other simple tasks. The whole time I was there each thing I did for someone when they said thankyou you could tell they ment it. But what really hit me the most was this table of kids that looked like they were around my age. I felt prety bad. After leaving i felt amazing. The feeling of helping some one who actually needs it is amazing. So share you experiences if you have any. And remember to be thankful for what you have!!! P.s please no cool story bro. And sorry for spelling. I'm on mobile
A buddy and I are looking to help out at a food shelter over x-mas. Not only are you doing something good but man, think of the stories some of those people have! Pretty pumped to volunteer
plus k for being supporting a good cause. before i say something or do something that affects others i always imagine how i would feel if i were them and someone did what im about to do or said what i was about to say to me. helping people is the best feeling.
I made a patio/ garden for a family crisis center in my town, It was super rewarding giving those families a place to calm down and relax after all they have been through!
Well today I returned a guy's Blackberry he dropped on the mountain, and he was so grateful, offered to buy me lunch and stuff. Oh and helping people that wiped out always feels good. I wanna go work at a homeless shelter or something.
I'm going to be volunteering for Habitats for Humanity over winter break with one of my closest friends. For those who don't know, it's a non-profit organization that builds shelters for those who cannot afford their own. Hundreds of people volunteer to build them, especially during the winter when people need them most. I love building shit, so this is a perfect way for me to help out. Kinda stoked
we did a similar thing for my sisters 18th on the weekend. She baked 200 cup cakes and we took them down to the shelter. Some great people down there. One of the guys told me he didn't want a second cake as he'd had an 'elegant sufficiency'.
I was preparing to rip to you shit when i read the first 2 sentences then i finished and i am happy that you decided to not be a little bitch. Well done
skipped a weekend of college partying to go volunteer in my buddies hurricane ravaged hometown a few hours outside of where i go to school. felt great helping out even though it was small, didnt feel bad cause there are other weekends, and its all the same after a while anyway
My highschool had us work for 2 weeks after christmas every year at service sites, my jr year i worked at a school for kids who had down syndroms, and let me tell you those kids are the happiest kids you will ever meet, it made me feel great leaving. the next year i worked at a place where they did therapudic horse riding for pople with mental, and physical disabilities. its great to help people out. i worked my ass off shoveling shit, and rebuilding the tac room, and at the end of the day it was all worth it because i got to see how happy they all were when they came in to ride the horses
wow this is one of the only threads ive read that has quality people in it, and during christmas break my family volunteers at this toy drive thing and it feels good to help kids get a gift that usually wouldnt.
im volunteering at the shelter house and christmas cheer in 2 weeks. my mom is on the christmas cheer committee and says it feels so nice helping others in need. the same feeling i want when i have my dream job, whatever that may be. good job OP!
Dude c'mon, spelling isn't the point. He was just spreading positivity and you come here being all negative and shit. People like you piss me off. But to the OP +k for helping out people in need, It's always a great feeling
