Looking into getting my first vehicle at the prime age of 22. Problem is I don't know my ass from a hole in the ground about cars. I'm looking into cheap reliable vehicles and I stumbled on a decent deal on a 2004 Hyundai Elantra Sedan, manual, 190,000km's.
Are these cars any good? I'm getting mixed reviews on Hyundai as a company in general.
I wanted to add more but mobile ns posted before I was finished. I'm no saying they are bad cars, they seem to be economical, price point vehicles, but ias I've said , and consumer report can. Ack this up, they tend to have lots of issues as they get older . If I was on a restrained budget and needed as good reliable vehicle, toyota, Honda are good choices. Personally for me, i can't drive mundane vehicles, so I pay for it at the pump and in the shop, by it's my choice because you spend so much time in your car it should be enjoyable..
eh im hesitant towards hyundais...my mom has one, her friend, and my grandpa. Driven all three and to be hones really not happy with them. Really cheaply built car. I know someone who was paralized in a hyundai and we are convinced it was because the car was crushed because it was so cheaply built. Anyways if its a good deal maybe take it but definatly look around on craigslist and what not.
Like the person above me said. I had a rental for a week which was an elantra. It felt soooooo cheap. This coming from driving a Suzuki kizashi all the time in te summer. And tundra in the winter. You could just feel the quality difference. And that damn wheel was so touchy. I was swerving everywhere hoping I wouldn't get pulled over for being all over the road. But besides that it's a car it isn't to bad but I hear hyundais life span is short. I would say try and find a toyota for a good price if you could.
