The Official Stept Productions' "S.K.A.T.E On Snow" Thread
Villa vs Wallisch in the final. Gonna be super interesting to watch that one, two really different styles of riding. Gonna be interesting seeing wallisch do a blunt slide and clayton trying some crazy future spin.
i just don't get why they don't call them presses, like skiers have since they've tried to imitate snowboarders' nose/tailslides. things like this bother me, i have no idea what i'd be jealous of in this video...except maybe shea's beard.
there was a whole thread on the press vs blunt thing. ive always seen them as two different tricks. only guy actually doing blunts is casabon --> see goalpost shot in eye trip or B&E i forget which
"Like he gives a fuck"
Youd have to come up with some sort of headslide to win against wallisch.
He's just playing around with the stept kids, you really think he wouldn't be able to blunt/nose slide?
Clayt, B-dog, E-dollo, etc. are the best at making it look good, but the trick in itself isn't THAT hard.
last vid was really good! however when i clicked on this thread i thought this would be over all ready and i could watch the way to the finals. sadly disappointed lolz
it doesn't matter what you call it. it's all the same trick. if someone say bluntslide you'll know what it is, and if someone says press you'll know what it is.
people can call it whatever they want...like how in the east we call gapers "joeys". what you call it is something that can't be argued as NEVER will everyone call it the same thing.
I don't know why you're so worked up. They are two different tricks so calling them presses is wrong. But you can call them whatever you like, doesn't bother me.
and a blunt is when you slide on the actual tail of your snowboard/skateboard, i too agree that this term is completely heinous and outrageously ridiculously wrong, it must be expelled from the skiing vocab.
let me break it down for you kitties
skateboard bluntslide on the actual tail
snowboard bluntslide on the actual tail
not on the tail
understand now?
I think that concludes this very important argument
and just to clear anything up, a blunt (or noseblunt) is when you go over the rail more so if you do a regular blunt, you wind up with your heelpiece (or farther up the tail) over the rail. a tail/nose slide is when you stop short a bit so a nose slide is when your toepieces (or farther up the tip) is over the rail
You're using the clip where he's just about off the rail, i think he's actually in the air. If look while he's on it, the rail's behind the heel piece. skis have larger tails, thus more margin for press. This is dumb.
