Are switch 270's on easier than a straight 270 on? It really looks like it but the timing going switch must throw you off a bit.. Anyone prefer switch ?
If you're just as comfortable with switch 3s as forward 3s, then yes, they are easier. You're never blind to the rail, you land in your natural stance (assuming left spin, right foot forward slide), and switch spins are easier than forward spins in general since off the pop you've already initiated a spin because of the over the shoulder stance. However, approaching a rail switch is sometimes a bit awkward and you can sometimes get your tails caught in the slight blindspot you have. I'd say, if you're just learning 270s on, forward is the better way to learn, but switch 2s are a bit easier once you get used to the approach.
never done a switch 2 and not that great at normal 2's, but I'd imagine switch 2's would be much more comfortable once you can do them. not just because it would be easier to spot but because you'd be riding the rail with you dominant foot forward. assuming spinning normal
The issue that I find with switch 2s is that when hitting a rail that is set up urban style it is harder to pop as high to get over the rail when you are switch compared to regular. Also the approach can fuck with you a bit because of speed checks and what not.
