True. A lot more people were religious then than now. I don't agree with him on everything. But at least he's straight forward about what he believes.

And this election and the last, he's the only candidate with any real sense of economics. It really shows how ignorant the voters are when they go to the poles. They bitch about problems, then cast their vote for somebody who will continue the same policies.


I can respect the guy. That's far more than I can feel for any other candidate.

Herman Cain is a pawn he has no business being a presidential candidate. He has no clue about the economy at all. It is interesting when he is asked about anything serious like why is the economy failing or who he thought the best fed chairperson has been. It's embarrassing that at a time where economy/job creation is basically the most important thing people are concerned w the why would anyone choose an economically uneducated person to be there president??

its funny because the country isn't happy with obama. pretty much any decent, smooth talking politician could beat him, but the republicans can't put forward a decent candidate, and for that reason, obama will be re elected.

The presidential election and the road to it is a joke. It's all about who's the best performer. You cry about your economic status yet you spend billions of dollar campaigning for an absurd amount of time all to try and secure that middle 3-5%. Ron Paul speaks too much truth to ever get elected, and Herman Cain is too black. We get it America, you put a minority in office, you're indiscriminatory. Now can you elect someone who might actually make some positive change and who isn't just there for show?

Im still undecided on Ron Paul. Take him at face value and he seems like the man you've all been waiting for. He has been economically consistent for around 30 years, so i trust him on that front. But him being a right wing fundamentalist is a massive deterrent for me. It will only rip your country apart even further (mainly through education), which is the LAST thing you need.

Romney is the only republican candidate that doesn't scare the complete shit out of me. Though I can't say I agree with everything he says, some things he believes in are actually good. (as opposed to eg. Bachmann, who is a complete lunatic)

He wants to get rid of the department of education which would do wonders for education. But yeah I agree with pretty much your whole post till the end.


I'd rather have somebody in the whitehouse that stood up for freedoms and reasonable economic policy even if I don't agree with their religious views.

at the same time I don't think he stands a chance. Going to be in better shape than 08, but people want to vote for the same old. As much as people like to bitch about problems, they pretty much deserve most of the shit that comes their way. They get an opportunity to change it and blow it voting for the shittiest people that fox or cnn tells them are good.

Yeah Ron Paul is by far the best candidate, and a nice break from the lying assholes we see time after time vying for office. I just don't think he has much of a chance when it comes to being nominated, because while there are many points that people like about him, some of his ideas scare the shit out of voters.

John Huntsman is by FAR the only reasonable candidate he is fair and very intelligent , his role as governor of Utah speaks for itself not to mention he's fluent in chinese when they are one of the most important countries that we deal with economically. Sadly Mitt and him will never get a shot because they are Mormons. (I don't really like Mitt very much be he is for sure a safer bet than the rest).

This. I'm surprised to see how many people are in support of Mitt, considering his very recent changes in his own political stance.
Huntsman is seriously the only republican that hasn't gone completely off the deep end trying to win the religious right vote.
He's also the only one to refuse to plead for Trumps approval, which is more than any other candidate.

Thank god Cain is done, he fucking terrified me

All of Ron Paul's policies fell right in with my beliefs (don't remember specifics off the top of my head). Then, all of a sudden, he denounced abortion and I lost all respect. It seems like he's got a lot of great more liberal ideas, but is still stuck with the republican abortion platform. It's just one thing, as far as I remember, but it's huge and worth noting.

I agree with you on that, but that's not really what i was getting at. Im talking about how having a creationist leader will encourage educational departments in certain states to start emphasizing on the religious bullshit that was taught in the middle ages. That will widen the already large gap between the progressive and the people who still think there's a wizard in the clouds, which will only further slow down humanities efforts in advancing itself morally and socially.

that's based on his christian beliefs look at Paul's stance (libertarian) he would never use government intervention to abolish abortions be just personally thinks it wrong, to each his own I suppose.
