rust on rails

so we found this awesome rail that some kid left outside all summer and it got rusty right? is it possible to use a palm sand to sand the rust off? or are there better ways?

use a wire brush... you can hook one up to a drill or even a hand grinder...

repaint the rail when yer done so it wont continue to rust.

Put some rust remover on it. We used one of the cheap skateboard rails that you can get any sports authority this winter so it rusted. But we just put on some rust remover and then repainted it.

ok so just rust remove it...should i use anything to make sure its smooth or will repainting it do the trick?

maybe use sand paper if you want to get a bit smoother, but paint will deff. help.

use any paint that's intended for outdoor use and one that will adhere well to metal. spray paint would even work.
