In order:

Salomon driver sth 14 (because i own them and love them)
Fks140
FFG14 evenb though they are basically salomon sth 14 they don have a "driver" version i believe.

Atomic FFG 16's because they look amazing.

But honestly, the sth 14's are wicked; I have never used the FKS 140's so I won't comment on them but I've heard they're amazing. Only downside is they can only be mounted to a specific boot (no sliding the heel for adjustments)

Have FFG16s which have the driver toe... filthy sick if you need the higher DIN (9-16) and bomber construction... need $225 shipped, far cheaper than you'll find a new set of Rossi FKS 18s.. check my thread..

guys hello

please help me to solve my "dilemma" :)

few days ago in evening I buy my first ski pack in Internet-shop: Libtech fff 2013 + Salomon sth 14 driver 2013

also I may buy FKS 140 Orange 2013 instead of Salomon bindings, price difference was +10 EURos

I know that STH Driver and FKS both are great bindings

but at the moment of purchase I think "why I should pay more, if bindings are both great"

after purchase, at night, I read Internet forums and read that FKS biddings a little better and durable than STH, at the morning I write a email to shop, but was late, Salomon bindings was already mounted on skis

really I make a little mistake when buy Salomon STH 14 Driver, if I have a chance to get FKS 140 for +10 euros?

or I may don't worry and STH Driver is also good and durable as FKS?

sorry for my idiots questions :)

Don't worry in the slightest. They are both great bindings. Honestly I prefer sth for durability reasons, so in my opinion you got the better choice. Others will disagree but first time you break a brake you will be happy you got sth's.

For the 2013 season Atomic did make the FFG14 with a driver toe called the FFG14 Team as well as the FFG14 which features the Z series toe. The Z series toe is less durable than the superior driver toe on the FFG14 Team. In short FFG14 Team > FFG14.

I haven't skied the 14s but I have skied the 16s, the only difference between the 14s and the 16s is the 16s have a metal toe base, where as the 14s have a plastic one. So you can probably get a good idea of what you're buying by looking at my review of the 16s -http://aslansskiblog.blogspot.co.uk/2013/04/salomon-sth16-binding-review.html

The FKS140 features the plastic Dual Action III toe piece. I've skied with both the Dual Action III toe piece and the Driver Toe piece and I prefer the Driver toe piece; - FFG14 Team > FKS 140.

Overall - FFG14 Team > FKS 140 > FFG14

I right understand that in STH 14 Driver 2013 toe is metal, but toe baseplate is plastic?

in same time FKS 140 have a plastic toe and plastic toe baseplate?

your opinion that STH 14 Driver more durable than FKS 140?

I ski both the 14, and 16 with driver toes. I trust them equally. In fact I skied the 14 the hardest last season.

For reference I'm also 210 lbs.

If you can get a good deal on the 14's I would jump on them.

I'm also sure this year the ffg, and sth will be driver toes.

The only difference between the sth 14 and 16 is the 16 has a metal toe height stack. This is just to make sure it will be pretty much indestructible. But I ha e never seen a 14 toe stack break so don't worry about it you will be fine. An to your other question yes the sth driver toe is better and stronger then a fks 140 toe.

what components of STH 14 Driver and FKS 140 plastics and what metal?
what material of toe leg on FKS?
where is more metal?

I understand that toe-element of bindings more durable on STH Driver and STH have changeable brakes, but what bindings more durability in total?

At this level, you're splitting hairs. All are excellent bindings for that DIN range.

I'd go FKS155s first if I could find them as they have the singe pivot metal toe.

After that, They are all very similar in terms of quality and durability. All have a mix of plastic and metal and all are damn good bindings. If I wasn't dead set on any of the specific design features, I'd probably just go with whatever I could get the best deal on.

FFG14 Team features steel house and plastic exterior.
FKS140 has a plastic toe and metal heel piece.
