I think it represents a dramatic shift in the trust people have in the
media and the gov, but i dont understand why they direct it at wall
street. Every redneck in america watched glenn beck tell them to buy
gold every 2 minutes, and there are undoubtedly a few who did, and
they are prolly pretty happy about it. On the other side everyone who
trusted the government, and bernanke, and officials at the fed who
said if they had any money they would short gold they would. Also,
alot of people on wall street and hedgefunds bought tons and tons of
it.
Aside from gold, there seems to be some perception that wall street is
cheating, or has some special treatment that a normal daytrader at
home doesnt. The only special treatment wall street has gotten is in
the form of bailouts and money printing that has come from the
government, so i think its hilarious that they direct their anger at
wall street and not the government. Alot of politicians are by nature
sort of wanabe-celebrities, too stupid too realize that in 2000 years,
the words brad pitt or nancy pelosi might be mentioned once every
decade. The people on wall street are always going to be more
intelligent than politicians, so the more acts and provisions, and
even regulations, that the gov dishes out, the more the 150 iqs in
Manhattan will feed off them and continue to make more profits at the
middle classes expense. Mark faber said it best that ben bernanke is a
murderer of the middle class.
If you say "i want to build a hospital" in america, people will laugh
at you. The regulations and restrictions are so vicious, the hospitals
that current;y exist have a semi monopoly, which is the actual reason
health care costs are so high.
The only thing worth being angry about is collusion between the gov
and its friends like GE, who paid no taxes this year. Thats called
fascism.
Normal with the internet, people should be even less upset about
wallstreet, now that you can know anything that the people on wall
street know just with google.
I feel like ows is a bunch of communications majors from the cornell
school of agriculture demanding a job because their diploma looks
pretty and they think they will be payed for being able to speak their
native tongue. its so stupid to me the amount of jobs and majors and
professions that dont teach you a single thing that will help improve
this country. People seem to have lost the concept of competition.
They expect to get paid more to do less than a person in a sweatshop
in some other part of the world because they live in america, and at
the same time slander the military that makes this ridiculous
situation a possible scenario. The laws and regulations are so complex
you need to be a lawyer or rich enough to afford one, just to protect
what youve earned. Theres so much parasitism in america its crazy.
people dont get how easy humans have it compared to the rest of the
animal kingdom. most animals live a life that is devoted entirely to
surviving and reproducing. id rather be a somalian than a lion or some
animal that has to sleep standing up. People need to chill out,
especially in america. Wall street isnt some club that you cant get
into. download scottrade, if you cant cut it there than why would you
expect a job on wall street, or a well paying job anywhere. Theres
billions of people around the world who would love a job at 711 in
america. Where did all the ows people get the idea that what you see
is what you get?
If we modeled society to be free like wild animals are free and free
in an anarchical sense, everyone would start off with nothing,
gradually some people would get better than others at farming, then
developing weapons to protect what they had rightfully earned, then
alliances and laws would form to guarantee the right of ones genes
survival and well being, whether that gene was in the person
themselves or their offspring.
that is the path human evolution has led us to, and capitalism is the
closest we will get to a self sustaining and let alone progressing
species. that being said, capitalism in its present form is incredibly
generous if you compare it to any other system in the animal kingdom
which i would call true capitalism or animal kingdom. In a country
where obesity is the problem rather than hunger, should we really be
asking for more?
