Does anyone else have broken marker griffons?...

Okay, obviously a ton of people do because they are made out of shitty plastic blah blah blah...
anyways, the hole that the screw screws in to on the heel piece (the same screw that holds down the brake to the heel piece) is completely stripped. This means that my brake can no longer be held in. Yes, technically i could ski without a brake, but on the griffons, the brake is attached to the black part that the boot sits on. without the whole black piece, there is an extra half inch of space between the ski and the heel piece, so the boot can not stay in place.
my issue is, marker fucking blows when it comes to warranties/ getting replacement parts. all that they say is go to your nearest dealer and have them get you the part. ive already tried that and they said that i need to contact the people who i bought it off of, which is an online site that i dont remember. so, is there any other way that i can get a warranty / replacement part?
or.....
are any of you kind fellows out there nice enough to give me the good heel piece to your broken set of griffons? i, of course, will pay shipping and throw 10 bucks your way as well for your kind gesture. also, your real life karma will sky rocket and i will be forever thankful.
(i can take some pictures to explain the problem of my bindings to clear things up if need be)
thanks!

Welcome to what happens when you buy stuff online!
Marker is following the terms of their dealer agreements by not dealing directly with consumers. It's also not their fault that your local shops refuse to help you. Perhaps if you supported them buy purchasing gear from them, they might have a different tune.
In my experiance Marker has been awesome with getting replacement parts to me and their customer service is fantastic.
The only person you can blame is yourself! It's not Marker's fault that you're too cheap!

you better believe im cheap, im 17 and have a bunch of shit to pay for. im not going to pay more for stuff than i have to, sorry. and its the marker binding that broke, they should stand by their product and at least sell replacement parts to their bindings.
anyways, we are past that. anyone out there that can help me out without repeating stuff that i already know?

well maybe i could just take off the moving parts and the heel piece is the same? idk up to you, if you dont have any use for them in the future i'd gladly take them off your hands and give them a shot!

This should be the only thing posted in this thread. Most unreliable bindings I have ever skied. If I had money i would buy something else...but I don't...

they do stand behind their prodcts moron. it's called warranty. just because you can't remember what store you bought the bindings at means you're dumb.
why should they sell new heels? they will replace for free.

If all it comes down to it that you cant get a new brake. Either super glue them into the holes. Or cut of the brakes and super glue that part into the holes.

doesnt matter, im screwed for now. im just looking for some help, and obviously you have no intent to and are just looking to bring up the online vs. local stores fight because you work for one. like i said, ill be "cheap" and pay the lowest price i can, its just the way it is. thanks for the bumping up my thread though...

so you're saying just because he bought them online means he doesnt deserve to get fixed what broke? if marker is gonna sell bindings online they better fucking stand behind them, or just not sell them online!

yeah, i was thinking this. problem is i doubt that the shop would mount do to safety issues. i was thinking to try to rethread the hole? im not even sure if that would be possible or how well it would work, but if all else fails i could give that a shot!
and to the guy above, thank you. thats what i was trying to get at.

i dont know about the griffons, but if possible you could use a machine screw with a nut under the stripped hole and then bolt the heelpiece to the nut by going through the hole.

Just get them to mount them and dont tell them about the hole problem.
You dont put on the break until after their mounted anyway.

haha well see i guess, id rather not do that to the techs...thanks for the suggestions though. since its just plastic i may just try to rethread it with a slightly bigger screw. not sure how well that would work though, any thoughts about this approach?

sounds like it may work, just make sure its not too much bigger, and you may want to heat the plastic a bit to make sure it doesn't split

no im actually saying that he needs to go back to where he bought them. he doesn't remember where he bought them...oh well.
online stores can deal with warranties. why should a local shop help someone that didn't buy the product from them?

i think it was proctorjones..idk, i would need to find the receipt and i definitely lost that. my fault on that one. and i dont really have the time to send them back, then them contact marker, then marker sending it to them, then them sending it to me..

Post a WTB on TGR GearSwap, I'm sure someone on there has a griffon heel piece lying around that could help you out.

Well this experience is clearly the complete opposite, and quit with your local buying bs, marker is clearly fucking this kid over with some fine print and not standing behind their (shitty) product.

It's not Markers fault that he cant remember where he purchased them. Marker has an excellent warranty program if you go through the dealer. I'm sure they would be happy to back up their product if he remembers where he got them, but until then its a liability issue.
