I've got a couple sets of the line poles with the bar tape grips that I'd like to cut down. I heard that you can put regular pole grips under hot water to loosen them up. but I don't want to mess up the bar tape, so how should I get them off? thanks for your help.
Im fairly certain there are 3 tiny grub screws which hold the plastic part which has the grip tape on. You undo these and the grip slides off, quite like a lock on mtb grip. Then just cut down the pole slide the grip back on and tighten the screws.
I have the same poles just bang them in hot water for like 5 minutes and they will come off fine you don't have to worry about messing up the tape it won't!
