How do you hold your grips?

This thread has had to have been made before but i searched and nothing but, when using poles how do you hold the grips?

A. No straps
B. Hand through strap and strap on top
C. Hand through strap and hand over strap
D. None of the above (describe)

nice i think i can be a teacher and make tests nice and easy like a slide of cake baked steezey

B is how to break your thumbs. as if your pole gets caught on something and gets pulled back the strap will pull down on your thumb and can break/stave your thumbs, so i usually do A or C or D: no poles

C i think, hand through strap and you palms covering the top unless im grabbing, i hold them regualr. i got a pair of scott super light cheap race poles painted and there THE skinniest pole made.

I cut an old pair of poles in half and taped a quarter over the top......there's no straps.
