Just got an Canon Elan7e

Hey I'm in a black and white photo class and my teacher kind of blows and I wanted to know if you guys had any tips for black and white film photography. I just upgraded from pentax k1000 to the Canon elan 7e and I'm super stoked. Anyways pointers?

Bear picture is so good man. I want to do some astrophotography on film. I feel like it will be really challenging but I want to try. What speed film should I get for this
