http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Genocide
i know its wiki and youre probably gonna say that its not a credible source and stuff.
you are right in a way, your definition is the classical, "generally accepted" definition of genocide and its famous examples.
'Genocide is defined as "the deliberate and systematic destruction, in whole or in part, of an ethnic, racial, religious, or national group"
tell me where instantly eliminating some hundreds of thousands japanese on two seperate occasions does not fall under this very broad definition?
i know what your point is and i had history classes too, good job. i am just saying that genocide is a very broad term and if the nazis did commit it, americans would have a different look at it. i like how a lot of people up there agree how unnecessary those bombings were and how others still believe the blabalblabla-story of how many lives were saved.
it came off a little derogatory when you said that i am from austria. we lost the war and really, nothing better could have happened for the world. but because of that, we had to clean up all this mess and start over again. people got arrested because of their connection to war crimes. the "winner states" didnt have to make that trials. which makes me sick. when you shoot 50 civilians just for the fun of it, you should be put to trial, no matter what country you fought for. (just an example to illustrate my point)
