How much to sell my skis for?

So I would like to save up for new boards for Christmas but new skis would involve selling my current ones to use the money for new ones. So I am absolutely unacquainted with the used market for skis so someone fill me in, if I am going to sell my skis, it won't be at the cost of valueable skiing days over Christmas break which would probably be when it would take place, so if I sell them on Ebay, I could specify I can't ship them out until 5 days after payment or something but then I run into conflict where I assume there will be much greater demand for them prior to christmas and if I were to get skis it would of course have to be on christmas day! So first I have to think, should I get skis now or just push one more full season out of these which they will continue to get smaller as I grow and try to get some kind of deal on a Demo at the end of the season.



and my right ski jammed hard on a hidden treasure and took out a good size chip out of the bottom that is fairly deep but doesn't touch the edge, the skis are mounted I think at the reccomended line with pretty nice Rossignol bindings with 100mm brake and 4-12 DIN i don't know what they are but yeah, how should I approach getting that fixed and then how should I go about selling them? (with bindings mounted, bindings seperate etc) if I am not to get new skis for Christmas I would probably have to get new boots depending if they break in after a couple more times. Talking budget:



-(How much I get for my skis)+200$ (selling leatt neck brace) + 100$ (cash) and then I could get the bindings and have them mounted as a gift so long as I cover the cost of the skis which would have to be under 550 in the end and I could maybe stretch it to 600$

well first of all you should learn what skis they are and what bindings they have....

Ok, the skis are Rossignol S7 Pro which are the junior model and they are 160cm in length mounted with Rossignol Axial2 bindings that I got for $170.00. No way will I sell them for $100, might as well just keep em as rock skis. But what should I do about the core shot and the other scratches from rocks that didn't penetrate? I can't tell any difference in how they ski should I just say that when I sell them or pay to have them fixed first?

you should have the coreshot fixed, let the buyer know that it may have water damage, keep the bindings, and sell them for max 200.


they are junior skis, with ? seasons on them, with a coreshot. it will be tough to unload them because there is no demand for them, and it will have to be someones mommy who pays for them(they are childrens skis).

Yeah it probably would be someones mom or dad buying them for Christmas present and I am sure they would want the bindings on the skis, I don't see a point in keeping the bindings because i am getting skis that will be too wide for them unless you think I should get a wider brake or just go beater and bend them. If it sets me back $15 to get the core-shot fixed I think I will be good because i only skied them the rest of the day and one more time and that is the only core shot the skis have. Although they do have the surface scratches but do not make a difference when you ski them. And they do have some small chips on the sides of the top sheet and a few cosmetic scratches there as well.

The skis have like half a season, January 1 - March 1 literally

i'll warn you, there isn't much of a market for used kids skis on the internet as parents are usually the ones browsing, and therefore are scared of online shopping, and definitely don't go on newschoolers (with the exception of papasteeze)

my advice is this- put rental bindings on them, and rent them to random parents for their kids to use on pow days.


But seriously, just keep them as rock skis.

I can't keep them as rock skis because then I couldn't even get new skis because I have to buy the new skis with cash saved up, selling some shit and the money from these skis and then MAYBE get the bindings for Christmas, these skis are too small and disappointing.

We have got some pretty good classifieds in my state and parents I am sure are lookin on there for skis to get there young grom for christmas that don't want to buy new.

well i just sold some 1 year old used armada el reys with bindings i spent 520 on and sold them for 385...so just post them on ebay for half the price and post the buy it now price whatever you want

What I think I'll do is get the bindings for Christmas so as soon as I sell my skis (get the money, not ship them out), buy new boards unmounted and hold onto them until I either ship the skis out or sell em locally, get the bindings mounted and go from there

or: keep my skis until Christmas (Christmas day when I get new bindings) and then sell my current skis, go buy new boards  an get the bindings mounted but then I would have to use my skis all through Christmas break

Only problem with these plans is that I would have to keep my skis through Christmas which right after Christmas the demand will drop, or I could get rid of them like a couple days before Christmas (it would have to be more with Ebay) but then that puts me out 5 valueable days
