Which Rail??

This kid I know offered to make me and my friends any metal rails we want. He is a welder and he wouldn't charge for labor, only for the price of the metal.

As of now we have a 10ft and 8 ft pvc shot gun rails and a sketchy 10 foot round rail made of PVC.

So my question to you guys is what type of rail would you choose if you could only choose one rail. How wide would it be also?

I was thinking a flat down fail that is pretty wide...maybe 4 to 6 inches. A mild DFD tahts wide would be nice too. Or should I just get a flat rail to progress as our rail game is not good at all.

What you guys think?

if your trying to progress you'll want a straight rail or maybe 1 kink, i'd do a flat-down cause i think they have a huge variety of things you can do on them

but seriously you should just get a long flat rail(something like 20-25 feet,depends on whats the max speed you can get) because you guys have to practice  new tricks on flat rail,no down-flat-down or sumething like that.

a long wide flat bar is most likely what we will get. The PVC rails we have can be made into kinks

don't get ridiculous with it, wide rails are harder to spin on, pry try like 4". (my preference)
plus you can get 4"x 2" square tube for pretty cheap, or at least in my area...

and if you ask 'how long' that is purely preference for you, i have a 20-footer that is kind of TOO long for simple stuff, so try like 12. maybe useless input but too late HA

no, because any special metal is going to be more expensive than just steel tube, just wire brush it once to get the rust/etc off and then rub some kind of wax on it

sounds good! I'm thinking a 15 foot flat bar 4 inches wide and wire brush it and wax.

id say 2inch, cause the herban rail are generally 2 inch and less. the day you will be good enough to do urban it will be easier.

flat bar with rounded edges cuz you could always set it up down or up depending on the type of setup you have. i would prefer about 3 or 4 inches as well

Dont make it so wide, you'll get better pretty fast, and then if it's as wide as a box it will get boring and un-challenging...
