so i need new boots, and i've see these full tilts all around where i am, a lot of people have them and they seem pretty popular. my question is, are they worth it? can anyone who has a pair tell me whats good with them, also if anyone has any other options feel free to say what you think (iv'e had solomon shoguns for the last 4 years, 2 separate models)
yea, i dint exactly look through the forums for a suitable place to post it, i figured it wouldn't matter as its pretty common knowledge and not a very confusing question that requires a specific answer, im just hoping i can make up my mind by friday when i may go pick up a new pair
i just got FT booters and i like them, they don't make me all hot and sweaty like you might think but the ridiculously soft flex took a bit to get used to, but the intuition liners are SICK and way too comfy.
semi-related, i steered clear of the spk's just cause of the rubber toe, seems like it would disappear fast when you hike a rail or move your foot or breathe hard
ok, im gonna be that guy, but its the most sound advice you will hear. dont buy these boots because they seem to be popular and everyone else has them, buy them if they fit. boots are easily the most important piece of equipment you buy, so dont go with the crowd and buy a pair of these boots. the kids on this site buy these boots like nikes, so chances are half of them never got fitted and just went out and bought a pair for the same reason as your about to. go to a shop, get fitted, try on any and all boots the fitter recomends and go with the pair you feel most comfortable in, not the ones your friends are most comfortable in. if that boot is a full tilt, then go for it, but dont buy it because it has a giant FT on the side and looks like a basketball sneaker
is the drop kicks liner more comfortable than the hot doggers liner bc i have hot doggers and i love them but my friends never complain and i do sometimes like my foot is sore and it hurts
thats exactly why i came here to ask, thats for the sound advice man, im gunna check a couple places tomoro i think and may end up getting shoguns again, they are pretty good for me but no matter what i'm never gunna find a boot that fits, my feet are just too wide :/
id be surprised if the full tilts fit your foot if you have a wide one as they are a skinner boot, but try em on at a bootfitter and you will find out!
Like I just posted in another noob post it is important that you get a boot that is the right width/last for your foot. Chances are if your toes arent smashed into the toe and your foot still hurts the boot isint wide enough for you. And I asked about full tilts before and the answer I got was that they break all the time, are made by K2 in china using child labor, and in general are not an all mountain boot made for hucking cliffs so I would stay away from them unless you wan't to join the pack like everyone else and buy something because everyone else does.
You're wrong about the durability and the big/ all-mountain thing. I have First Chairs, and they're amazing for big mountain. Perfect stiffness and responsiveness. Buckles can break, a lot are plastic though, and cables can snap from people not adjusting them properly, but it's easily fixable. To OP, get fitted, I've been saying this in every FT thread I've posted in, and no body seems to be listening, and just end up asking comparisons between two different fitting boots.
Go to boot fitter and IF they fit you, then they will be great boots. Mine are super comfortable, I can wear them around all day, I never get any shinbang or toebang or anything like that but its because Full Tilts happen to fit the shape of my feet. If they don't, there gonna hurt as much as any other boot that doesn't properly fit you.
hey everyone!!! i ended up getting full tilts, yea i love them! tried them on and everything, best boots ive ever worn so far. cant wait till i can get on snow
