Im no ski tech so I would say, Get a second and third opion from good shops who can do the work for you, see what they say.
Also Unless you've mounted ski proficently before or you know someone who has and can help you mount them, dont do it. Your old ski sound good unless there really small or beat to hell, just make sure you carful where take your skis off.
Sacrifcing the first few days of the season to make sure your gear is solid is better then wreaking yourself and out for the season.
just move the toe-pieces... call killy and see if one of the ski rental techs can do it before you go up the mountain, it only takes 20 minutes
