Hey guys im relatively new to the park and was just wondering how I know which foot to grind forward with. (which foot is my front foot). I feel more natural approaching the rail from the left side, but my right foot is my strong foot. so which one goes in front?!?!? please help guys +k
Walk towards a set of stairs. Which foot would you take the first step with? That's your "natural" foot, but I REALLY stress learning both feet at a younger age, or earlier in your progression. You will thank me a few years down the road.
it's whatever foot you skateboard or snowboard with forward. If you don't ride boards sideways and don't know, you are at an advantage in a way, you should learn both ways. If you decide to only learn one direction you are blowing it, it is much easier to learn unnatty slides the same time you are learning your naturals
totally depends though. for instance I ride a board regular, but a rail goofy. I shoot left in hockey, but right in golf. I'd say jsut go for a nice easy box and don't think about it and you'll naturally go one way and stick with that
Mix it up. Just do it. i find if its your first time it dosen't make a difference. I once slid a rail with my right foot and that was my first time. Then on my 2nd lap after that i slid the other way and didn't even notice until a friend pointed it out! Have fun shredding bro, keep progressing!
That sounds weird, as it would be your preferred foot that would normally dictate which side you would like to approach the rail from? I mean approaching the rail is just like skiing down a slope, it's the getting on and sliding it that's the hard part.
