T Rice is the future of snowboarding, him and Jeremy Jones are the snowboarders that have taken snowboarding to the next level with the help of a few others. The terrain they shred is so much more impressive/difficult than Ginger Bitch's halfpipe show.
No, this guy's right. I respect JEremy and all, but he is no where near Travis and the rest of those guys. Don't get me wrong, I bought his movie "Deeper" and it was a really, really good movie.
But Jeremy definitely should not be allowed to even touch the supernatural course
So, it's over: Travis won, DCP hurt his knee pretty bad, Kazu almost ate a tree in the face, Jackson landed the only double cork, Muller and Gigi did good apparently..
That's the information I got, video of this on march 31th, can't wait!
Oh snap! My bad, didn't mean to, really..
If somebody with the great power of editing posts is around, feel free to do so, I wouldn't want to ruin some people's fun by spoiling!
seams a bit silly though, it's almost two full months before any footage becomes available. How long can you stay in the dark? It's not like it's live and he'll be able to watch it tonight or tomorrow.
My thoughts exactly. I thought he was the mastermind behind it and helped build it and was gonna be a judge, I didn't even realize that he was competing. Seems kinda weird to compete in a contest you kinda came up with. Seems like a bit of an unfair advantage. I'm sure he deserved it though, this is his element.
jon used to compete in JOI/JOSS...why take all the time to setup an epic comp if your not gonna ski/compete in it...these are skiiers/snowboarders so they are going to ski and snowboard....
It just seems odd to me to compete in a contest you came up with and is named after you. It just seems like it tips the scales a bit to compete in a contest when you were involved in every step of it's genesis. Travis Rice is pretty clearly head and shoulders above any other living (or dead) snowboarder in this kind of riding and I assumed this contest was to find the next Travis Rice.
as stated earlier, Jon Olson competed in his event. Candide competed in his event. Terje competed in his event. Sammy Carlson competed in his event. Johnny Moseley competed in his event. Literally ever pro who has put on an event has competed in it.
Besides all this, T Rice didn't touch the course with his board until comp time. There is no way you can hate on him for having an "advantage".
this. also all the riders could ride on on either side of the course to scout it out. the only advantage i could see travis having is that in the summer when they were building them he stood at the edge of those wooden booters and saw where is landings were gonna be and stuff. maybe a visual advantage?
and this is why i hate shuan white he shoeldnt be skipping out on comps because the prize purse is too low, only 35000?!?! He is suppose to be doing this because of his love for the sport and not the money
I'm not even hating, like I said, I'm sure he had the best run and deserved to win because he is head and shoulders above anyone else at this kind of thing. I just think it's weird to compete in an event with your name on it, and I'm not singling out travis. I think it would have been cooler if he'd been a judge.
