What is wrong with you people? All he's saying is that on any particular day, some features on this course are going to be in better shape to hit than others, and will look like more attractive options. People are more likely to hit those and ignore others. That's obviously true, it will depend on the conditions on the hill at that point and just the basic fact that necessarily not all features will be equal when they're built, some will be in prime spots and others less so. How is this even controversial?
You're still missing a huge part of what the whole event is about though. If you read the article you'll notice the main thrust of what T. Rice is planning and aiming for is an event that gets the best snowboarders from both areas together- at the same time in the same place:
"The two groups have a lot to teach each other -- they need to be brought together...A big part of this event is just being together up at the Baldface lodge. I'm really excited about it, because like I said, I think beautiful things can come from bringing the two groups together."
Your idea would prevent this from happening and ruin the whole premise of the event. That's not even remotely worth considering when it seems the location, format and features will greatly minimise if not completely eradicate your concerns.
