Volkl Wall mount job deep in her

So on a symetrical park ski one would think you drill some holes in the 'true center' of this baby and bam. But there's a 'boot center', what is she talking about? Why wouldn't I just drill in the center?
I'll be skiing all-mountain as well as park so an all-around lady would be nice.

Just curious, thoughts?

I have this weird feeling that the online skiing community could be much more helpful if we had any idea what the fuck you were talking about. You want to centre mount something? Drill holes in the centre of the ski? Drill holes in your boot? Make sweet sweet love?

boot center is where they suggest that you mount it, usually the tickets part of the core/center of the platform. True center is the actual center of the ski. If you are doing park and mostly rails, i have heard that true center is the way to go. If you are riding more jumps and woods, and only some rails, i have heard that you can ruin a good pair of skis by center mounting. personal preference contributes too

Isn't it the case that the boot center should line up with the geometric center, which is the same as core center, on a symmetrical ski?

the skis are symmetrical, no?

so measure the length of the ski, then measure from the tail to half that length. put a mark there. thats usually about 2mm (0.2cm) behind center because the tape measure has to be pulled down to the ski instead of straight from tip to tail.

Walls should only be mounted center, they are symmetrical.


And someone up above said that you can ruin a pair of skis by mounting center? LOL!

You sound like you don't know what you're talking about, or doing.

I wouldn't trust you with my skis.

Like said, just measure out your skis, the middle will be the middle. I wouldn't mount my skis based on where it is marked on the topsheet, the topsheet can be misaligned.

dont look at the mark since in the building process the topsheet could have moved so the mounting marks could have moved

take your skis, boots, and bindings to a professional at your local ski shop. tell them to mount them at center

So sorry, I was trying to make an innuendo which turned out pretty weak and reads retarded..

Yea, I'm curious simply how the ski would perform at 'true center' vs. 'boot center'? Though i'm thinking about getting the schizo's it wouldn't be an issue than, just wanted some opinions.

I just mounted a pair of these last week. There is 1-6 designated mounting lines on the skis. The highest one up IS NOT TRUE CENTER OF THE SKI!!!! So, that being said, these skis are NOT made to be mounted dead center by the recommendation of the manufacture. But you can, there is no problem doing so, and true center is about a centimeter above the top line.

If you are not skiing all park, mount your boot center at the 3rd or 4th line from the top. You'll have no problem skiing anything at that mount.

Yep. Seen many blow up, heard of even more blow apart.

Watched my friend make a sharp turn, BOOM! Bindings exploded everywhere.

It's a good idea, just terrible design,

Look into some Jester or Griffon Demos if you're looking for adjust ability.

if your skis are symmetrical, find an empty corner of floor and put your skis bases flat on the floor, tails against the wall, edges touching at the contact point and one ski with its outside edge on the wall. if the lines are even, that means the top sheets are either fine or off an equal amount, to find out which, flip one ski tip to tail, base still flat on the floor, now one skis tip is at the others tail, if the lines are still even, they are dead center, otherwise, break out the tape and measure those babys up!

or just measure them if my explanation is to confusing, I am not very good at explaining things

You'll be able to take you mounting point from center to however many you want back. Can be practical for all mountain skis that are in the park sometimes, then all mountain.

If you get your ideal mounting point though, that will still kill it for everything, you don't need the Schizo, or have to worry about them blowing up.

The idea of the binding is there, the durability isn't.

They aren't meant to be ONLY mounted center. Plus there's a difference is "core center" & "true center". The most forward mounting line IS NOT true center. Do you kids not read the posts already in the thread? Sorry to be salty but the manufacture gives you mounting lines because THAT IS WHERE THEY INTEND YOU TO MOUNT THE SKI.

Oh. And I wouldn't put the schizo on this ski. But if you are, who cares where you put the binding. Mount it at the top most mounting point and you're good across the board.

I actually just picked them up and measured the top mounting point - it is true center if not then maybe a millimeter off.

as I had said, its a little bit off. haha. As a tech, I always measure. that line is indeed not TRUE center. plus top sheets differ, doesnt mean that they laid it 100% accurately.
