My opinion on Tom Wallisch

After watching Afterdark multiple times i cant help but notice something awkward in the way Tom skied urban this year. Not sure if he skied like that because he was hurt or was just trying to change up his "style". Anyways getting to my point we usually see Tom doing the crazy shit on rails like a 2 on dub swap or like a front swap prez 4, well u get it he slays urban. But in Afterdark it seemed like he would only do one switch up or simple tricks, i guess trying to make them more "stylish". I think Tom is better off doing the shit he is known for like pretzels and just rediculous tricks on rails. /rant

down-C-down rails, or burly ledges into transitions dont require switchups or pretzels. plus,didn't that 2 on, front swap pretzel two in After Dark didn't tickle your fancy? That shit was absurd, and so stylish.

rail skiing is going away from the ballerina switch up contest towards smooth tricks on high risk features. get used to it because most people will agree with me in saying that it is a lot better.

Watching all the pros tossing different switch up combos on the same played rails is boring. I want to watch crews try to find the burliest high risk features around and hit them for the first time.

Mainly due to all the long flat bars and no creativity. Although urban is growing at a crazy rate and i personally am glad to see moving away from that.

i haven't seen any non-free 2011 movies [yet]

but im going to be disappointed if his style changed even more from eye trip. i love his rail style from his 07 superunknown and stuff like that. his seggy in refresh is one of my favourites of all time.

but in eye trip it seemed to be a little different, sometimes when he got on the rail it looked like he had a dick in his ass or something. he's still throwing down crazy tricks with style and what not, but i liked how his style was before.

whatever at least he's still bananas at jumps.

That video part was epic... more BC stuff though... would be nice.. Ive never seen him ski a big pillow line or tech big mountain line. I bet he shreds would be dope to see his poppy style getting tech on pillows..

anyways kid... Its called Freestyle skiing for a reason.. the whole idea to be free ... so stop telling people how to ski.. too many switch ups are whack..in my opinion..

ya i don't remember much of his seg from after dark. i remember how i felt tho and that was mesmerized. he had a sick seg like always. but then again, there are so many other skiers out there who slay rails better than he does now so maybe your perception is just different these days...idk. tom is, and always will be a dope skier!

after rewatching those two parts from slamina, the answer to op's question is clear: Those rails that he's spinning like a top on are, relatively speaking, pretty much park rails. If you were to throw together a short edit of every urban tom hit in slamina and stacked it up against what he clocked this past year in ad (russia) and beggin' for change, you'd realize that they're on a whole different planet.
