I think the new lifes have a weird rocker profile. I've been on the 191 Live lIfe's twice for powder this year and they float and rip with ease. Super 7 is too directional imo.

Go for new lifes! Fat, Symmetrical, nice rocker on them. But of a stiffer flex. Can't wait for mine

Bit of a stiffer flex*. Compared to other rockered fat twins out there. They'll be great for interior BC

I'd advise you to stray away from the S7. 5 years ago, it was a revolutionary ski, now, there are better designs out there for advanced/expert skiers looking to rip pow. (if you want more on that reasoning, read this: http://blistergearreview.com/gear-reviews/review-2011-2012-rossignol-super-7 )That being said I don't know where your skill level sits, or what your riding style is, those are important5 to include when asking for ski advice if you expect to get actual, informed answers.

The S7 is a pin-tail design, ergo there are skis out there that ski switch MUCH better in pow (JJ, Bentchetler, Caylor, Hellbent, Bibby Pro, etc)

However, the pintail is part of the reason the S7 is so popular. At lower speeds and in tight spots, it's insanely easy to ski ( a HUGE percentage of the market bobs along through pow skis at low speeds - people like my 60 year old dad - hence the reason so many have been sold every year since they came out)

Having said that, if you take a pin-tail ski out of the "slow mellow, noodly, pow turn world" and into the all-out charging through 1.5' deep trenches realm....stability tends to fall apart, they shovels of the ski dominate the smaller dimensions of the tail, and all of a sudden you've brought the ski to its designed limit

I understand this whole pintail thing. What I don't understand is why he is ragging on surface pow skis. They are outstanding. Sorry you had to write that whole explanation. I'll give you some karma for your troubles.
