Finally. Thanks for putting it this way, pretty much all there is to it. I absolutely agree that there is zero altruistic nature in these countless helmet threads. And even if there were, skiing is just not the place for such an attitude.
Where did I say helmet wearers are drones and do so for fashion? Oh yeah, I didn't. What I did say was that you, as in you yourself, are a drone and I based that off of the fact that 99% of your ns friends are pros, your music tastes are laughably predictable, and just the general impression i got through this interaction.
Also, the only reason we're interacting at all is because you did the very thing you claim not to....you questioned my intelligence and my "evolution"ary state because of my personal choice to ride without a helmet (most of the time). I made what was clearly an over the top half in jest post that you felt the need to quote and criticize. So, I may be a "kewl adult", but you're a hypocritical child who struggles with reading comprehension apparently.
You fucking literally made that up. Where did I say helmet wearers are drones? Learn to read dipshit, you're the trendwhore drone for reasons outside of your choice to protect your head. I would NEVER criticize someone choosing to wear a helmet, I would however clown some euro wannabe thug who cites wutang and red man as his favorite music, b&e as his favorite video, and has a friend list made up of almost entirely pros. You're a joke, sensitive, and are either woefully incapable of reading with any sort of accuracy, or you're willfully misconstruing what I said to twist the argument.
The bottomline, and the sole reason I'm interacting with you whatsoever is because you attacked my views about people who needlessly push their ideas about wearing helmets on others, or choose to make negative comments about non-helmet wearers. Period.
Gotta disagree. It's the exact opposite of what you said. See the helmet types are "calculated" risk takers. They are intelligent enough to see the inherent risk and also a way around it by wearing protection. Therefore, they ensure the gene pool is filled with intelligent non-pussys. While those who cannot see the benefit of such protection get culled out. In the past I have responded negatively to those who would justify not wearing such protection because of how easily influenced some are by the actions of others. However if I go by the logic of my argument against your post combined with my disdain for those who follow blindly, I can only come to one conclusion. That is to go right on ahead with such recommendations to the followers, as my great great great grandkids shouldn't have to compete with that lineage either for precious resources. Lmao
Yes you're wrong. Your choice to wear a helmet contributed nothing to my appraisal. I've already detailed why I made my assumption and you can add on the fact that you have an inspired icon. I also love that you felt it necessary to provide a break down of your friends, hilarious. Holy shit, you are sensitive. And, once again, I find it funny that you attacked me personally and yet your tolerance for similar treatment is pretty damn low.
Here's a tip, care less about what others do, say, and think, and try and figure out who the hell you are because you're not henrik harlaut or Phil casabon regardless of how much wutang you listen to.
I always wear a helmet skiing no matter what i'm doing. Worn one my whole life so it feels weird skiing without one. I don't give a shit if you don't wear one doesn't bother me, but you just can't argue that it is safer to ski without one.
I know this is an extreme example, but you think he would have survived if he was wearing a hat?
...Not a chance, his head would have been the thing that ripped apart, not the helmet.
you're the one "dipping" to this level to argue a 16 year-old drone who has pro freinds. You don't take too kindly to being called name yourself I see. So you're last paragraph I give back to you as a gift of wisdom, for that is what it is.
Quality NS discussion, as usual: two opposing views, it all boils down to personal preference, poor grammar and spelling, no progression in arguments as well as no coherent arguments short of "I'm right you 16 yr old fuckwit".
Bottom line: it's personal preference, no matter how retarded you can't argue it. It is COUNTERPRODUCTIVE to call someone for stating a preference, discussing why/how/what lead you to you chose that particular preference (accidents, always done it, feels natural, safety etc) is a good thing. Don't be a hater.
cause you want to wear a hat. I normally wear a helmet.. but if i'm just skiing pow, or taking a few chill runs through the park I'll dtich the helmet... feels better for some reason. could just be my helmet though...
Bwahahah! 'i've listened to that kind of music since before i started skiing, AND discovering that i like B&E. Therefore But your assumption- that i try to be like them - does not make sence.
ya except a lot of resorts now have a mandatory helmet policy...
why would you not wear a helmet theyre comfortable, they keep your head warmer, for the most part they look fucking ill, and they help prevent tbi. you're just being a dumb fuck for not wearing one, its just straight up stupid to not attempt to protect your brain.
wow actually just shut the fuck up. first of all "spinny flippies on skis" why the fuck are you chirping freestyle skiing when this is a FREESTYLE SKIING website? secondly who the fuck are you to call somebody a mindless drone? you're the fucking mindless one to actually be getting angry at him to tell people to wear helmets. its a smart fucking decision. 28 years old? yeah right. if you were 28 you would have something better to do than to call somebody, probably a young kid, a mindless drone over the internet. you're honestly just pathetic. and what are you gona do about this? karma rape me? attempt to say something sly and witty in reply? its alright cause i know that i'm not a numb skull that thinks they're such a rebel for not wearing a helmet. i hope the next time you go skiing you fall and split your head open. then maybe when you're propped up in a hospital bed with staples in your skull and a severe speech impediment from suffering a traumatic brain injury you won't want to be such a rebel after all.
These are professional skiers, and there are only a couple of shots where someone isn't wearing a helmet. I think the only con is style, I personally wear a sick TSG helmet that I think looks pretty good :)
I pretty much always wear one, not because I don't feel comfortable. I'm a very comfortable skier, but you just never know when you'll catch an unexpected edge from a sticky rail or something.
I never used to wear one until I had to wear one at camp, I just got used to it after and realized it's so stupid not too, even doing the most mellow riding you can wreck yourself, I was skiing in a bit of sun burnt pow one time and my tips caught under and I went over and my tail smoked me in the back of the head so hard, it just makes sense in the long run.
Cuz its all about how you look .............two people died at my home mountain last year and both of them were not wearing helmets I fe el its extremely arrogant not towear one
