i once got my poles stolen from outside the lodge the first day i had them, also got food stolen from under the stairs but i probably shouldnt have left it under the stairs

I always leave my board where I can see it or bring it in. I never leave shit inside the lodge. I drive to the mountain with my pants and boots on and keep everything in my car.


For people that are under 16 that's not doable but for everyone else it's the way to go. People are fucking dirtbags.


When I brought a few younger kids to mount snow for pay your age a couple years ago, somebody stole one of their boards, and mad other peoples boards and skis. I had this kid crying because somebody stole his board and he wasn't going to be able to ride anymore. He doesn't even ride anymore. Some douche killed snowboarding for him. /rant

One time I had a backpack stolen from Northstar with all kinds of good shit in it. Even though I thought it was unlikely they'd catch the guy, I filed a police report.

Literally 2 hours later I get a call from the Truckee sherif saying he has my backpack.

I guess the guy who stole my pack was an employee at the resort, and they caught him trying to drive off with literally $10,00 worth of stuff that he had jacked from the lodge...

I'm pretty sure he's still in jail, and this happened like 4 years ago.

My system for not getting jacked:

1)Dress at my car in the parking lot.
2)Bring food with me and eat on the lifts(or put it in a backpack and bury it in the trees)
3) Take bathroom breaks in the trees.
4) Hide a gallon jug of water in the trees for water breaks.


I use the mountain to my benefit.

So, this is kind of unrelated, but borderline relevant. I was reading the paper three days ago and the front page story was about people stealing more at the grocery store. It seams that due to inflation and the lowering of wages, more and more people - from senior citizens to single moms to college students - are stealing things like cheese, vegetables, and other small expensive things, in order to sustain themselves.

I got a big kick out of it because I would steal small ("pocket sized") expensive things from the grocery store all the time when I first moved out of my parents and was living in the "real world". Now, many years later, I find that it's front page news that the rest of the "law abiding" world has caught on and is now stealing at a level that deems it front page worthy.

Hahahaha today some stupid kids left a vx100 and like a bunch of phones and ipods and wallets and shit in their car and I just took it all, they didn't even lock it up lol and I took it all to a pawn shop and got like $500 for it. Easy bank, dumbasses didn't lock any of their shit up.

Some mountains are worse than others. Pay your age day a mount snow, bring your fucking skis in to the stall when you shit. Where your skis through the lunch line. Don't get away from that shit or it's gone.
