Critique my Yacht Week edit please!

Between blackouts I got my camera out and put this together. It's not the unrated version (you know, grandma's on Facebook now and all) but hopefully it's still pretty entertaining. Let me know what you think, I'm trying to get better.

This was shot on a T2i with a kit lens and no stabilization since we were on a boat anyway (any tips on stepping up from that?) and since we were in the sun all day I had a polarizing filter on pretty much the whole time. The water stuff was shot on a GoPro.

A couple of obvious things.

It didn't look focused like 90% of the time, maybe try to zoom in on your LCD to get the focus just right.

And I don't think your exported it using the best settings you couldve, the quality got killed.

Other than that, it was pretty cool, a couple of over exposed shots, but I liked it.

Ya, yacht week rents the yachts and provides you a skipper and stuff. Then they organize the parties at night. Pretty good time and Croatia is awesome, it was one of the few places in Europe I'd never been.

Pretty much a drunken porno with nothing in focus. Especially since everyone figured out how to turn my camera on and press record by day 2.

It would be that which I described above, I'm speaking figuratively. I wouldn't waste my time with a camera during party time. We did strap a GoPro to someones chest one night for fun, but obviously everything turns out black as night with rainbow flashes from the club lights and stuff.

Looked like a fun week! . I was in split and dubrovnik this summer and it was amazing so I was thinking of going next year on yacht week. Would you recommend it? Only problem to me is there seems to be a lot of idiots/douche’s that go and just make it shit for everyone else?

As for the edit, it was good definitely, liked all the underwater stuff on your go pro. I wouldve maybe chosen a different song though, something still quite laidback but i just thought that that song didnt fit.

Thanks for the input, and as far as yacht week goes I'd suggest it. It's a great way to see a country too since you get to sail around to all the islands and such. You can keep to your own boat if you really wanted to, but almost everyone we met was fun. It's an awesome time, we had boats representing countries from Brazil to France to Canada to USA. It's expensive, but that shouldn't be your concern if you're considering a week on a yacht.....

yo yo your video itself is cool dude but for everyone asking, if you end up in the balkans a) don't go to croatia and b) don't go on yacht week. its a bunch of drunk bogans and posh british kids on gap yah. I don't mean any offense to the guy who posted this, i just ran into a bunch of these kids when i swung through croatia after hearing so much hype about it. Croatia definently had the least cool fellow travelers of anywhere I have ever been.

Croatia itself is beautiful no doubt and its definently the most western accessible country in the balkans. but its expensive by balkan standards and is organized like a tourist trap. dubrovnik is straight over run by cruise ships every 2 hours all summer.

If you want beautiful women go to serbia.

If you want beautiful women, a casual disregard for safety and the most rock and roll people on earth and to feel like a king on $100 bucks a day, go to bosnia.


If you want to see alot of dirty gypsys and feel like your going to be eaten by the thousands of wild dogs go anywhere in romania lol.

the balkans are awesome and i highly recommend them as a safe version of the fun of visiting the middle east!

Every yacht week boat is different, that's what makes it fun. Sounds to me like you didn't really go anywhere in Croatia though, the place has hundreds of islands and if all you do is swing through Dubrovnik you haven't even touched it.
