Neighbor keeps parking her car infront of our house....

So myself and a few friends moved into a house in Park City and it's pretty much just on street parking. 4 of us live in the house and we all have cars. We are able to park all 4 cars in front of our house when it's only us parking there. However, one of the chicks who lives across the street parks in front of our house some times, and it's getting pretty annoying. Today I guess one of my roommates put a note on the car politely saying, "hey would you mind not parking here because we really need these parking spaces, ect." Not the exact words but it wasn't a rude note or anything like that. We had previously put up some no parking signs that we got from Walmart, and I guess they had been all ripped down shortly after my roommate put the note on her car and after the car was moved (No one saw this happen, we are just assuming it was her). And what's really annoying is that they have a big "No Parking/Violators will be towed" sign at their place. So they obviously don't want people parking in front of their house, but this chick feels that it's perfectly fine to park in front of someone elses house? And then this bitch goes and rips down our signs? So I mean, is she technically allowed to park in front of our house since we don't have real permits/signs? And if so, is there a way to acquire these permits? I mean even if we did get permits and all, it's not like anyone would really be monitoring the street anyways.vWe are going to talk to this chick and ask her nicely in person to not park in front of our house anymore, but I'd just like to know if she is technically allowed to park in front of our house or not. Basically we don't want to start shit with our neighbors, but also don't want a constant battle going on over parking.

Same thing happened to me literally four b months ago when i moved in. Basically i left notes twice then i contacted the homeowners association. The person kept parking there and we had a steak out in my living room and waited for him and when we saw him i just confronted the guy face to face. Scrawny little computer dweeb and he doesn't fucking park there anymore.

Is there no where else on the street to park?

My place has alley parking, and street parking. Sometimes, I park in the back, next to my room mates car. Other times I park out front. Most of the time in front of our place, but sometimes, I just park across. Nobody seems to be bothered by it, and they'll just park in another available space.

I had this exact problem at my old house. Confronted her but she was a complete bitch and kept parking there anyway. However, our problem was solved by a hit and run drunk driver who smashed into her car while it was parked in front of our house, leaving her car totaled. Karma is a beautiful thing.

Honestly, I just pissed on her car a lot.

if she does it again and she parallel parks then you and your buddy should each get like 1 inch away from each end of her car and just get supper close but not touching, and she will have to come ask you to move haha

I have been in this situation even since I have lived in SLC. The thing is that street parking is public parking, anyone can park there. Obviously there is no harm is asking her to stop but she has the same right as you to park there. Is there not anymore parking on the street?

park in front of her house, rip down her no parking sign, block her in with your cars, beat her to the spot, call the city and tell them that somebody abandoned a car in front of your house and its been there for months then have them come and tow it to the impound lot. These are all legal options.

Illegal options include keying the shit out of her car, dropping deuces under her wipers, pouring sugar in her gas tank, potato in the muffler, etc. etc.

since only one other person has said this, I'll state it as well. You're in the wrong on this one. On street parking doesn't belong to you. Absolutely anybody can park there. If you don't want her parking there, get to the spot before she does, or sit down and shut up.

Pretty much. Last year I regularly had to park a block away from my house because all the spots out front would be taken. I didn't cause a ruckus because those people had a right to park there, despite it being annoying as hell having to make multiple trips to my car a block away when unloading stuff.

Seriously, try living in an actual city. You'll either pay between 100-400 a month to park where you want, or play roulette with on-street parking and either luck out or walk half a mile.

Exactly. It may be mildly annoying but she has the right to park there too. Living there doesn't make you entitled to the road space in front of the house. To be honest I don't think it's that big of a deal, just park in the next closest empty spot.

It's on the street parking... You said it yourself. You have no more right to the spot in front of your house than she does. I bet shes just trying to park in the closest spot to her house as possible. You can't blame her for that, you're trying to do the same thing, you're just acting entitled to it. You aren't.

Our house does have a garage that leads right to the street. What I mean is that there isn't a driveway then our garage, the garage is right on the street. We don't actually use the garage, but people at least can't park in front of our garage right? I mean if there is a car parked in front of our garage, legally we could have them towed right?
