The Skier Callout Rant

So I have been on the B/S/T forum a lot lately and I have seen A LOT of callouts lately. The Sammyd23 one was resolved but there are more that are not even close to getting resolved. It saddens me to hear about fellow skiers on a site that is supposed to be a community of trustworthy boys and girls. So my rant begins here:

Why the hell do people on a site on a forum based on TRUST and INTEGRITY try to beat the system and heat other members out of their money? There is really no point because in the end they get caught and have to either pay the money back or send the gear the are trying to scam people with.In this day in age, with technology where it's at, the scammer is generally tracked down and caught, so my question is why the hell do you do it? You give yourself a bad name, you give your family a bad name if you are young, you give your local area a bad rep and you make this site look sketch and really shiity. Now I love Newschoolers and I have made some really good friends on here, but I am starting to wonder if anyone on here can be trusted with all these scams happening. It's disappointing. SO NS, why do people try to scam? And how can we make our site the best it can be where people can trust other people without always being weary that they may get ripped off??

End Rant.

Hope that we can come together as the community that we are supposed to be and put a stop to all the deceiving and make our site the best it can be.

The picture made me laugh so +k for that.

I do see where you are coming from, but it is just a little messed up to see so many people getting ripped off.

In the case of the Samyd23 callout for instance: The kid had neen a part of the site for around a year and a half, had lots of good legitimate feedback and the sale was legit.

Not trying to run your counter argument into the ground but scammers also have the things you say makes a legit seller.

Again, I agree to an extent, but to be totally honest, it is not about scaring the community into a boycott or to stop using BST, it's to help try to come up with a good solution. Ruining a good forum because of scams is not my goal, nor should it be yours or anyone else's on the site. To be perfectly honest, and sorry if I come off asa dick, I don't really appreciate you condescending me and trying to make me look like a fool. May I am over reacting, but that is the vibe I am getting. Please, try to help come up with a solution to help out other members on the site. Common sense would say that one should be careful, but being cautious only gets you so far, you know? Should there be screening? Again, shutting down what I am saying and making me look like an idiot for trying to help isn't really appreciated. Hope not to get too much hate for my statement, but it is part of the game I suppose.

I understand this, thank you for the wisdom and insight.

So the only solution is to let the callout threads to continue and to try to help those who have been scammed in their callouts?

My current callout is on a guy who has all perfect feedback, besides one, not too happy, but not pissed guy. He has a good amount of karma and he had many pics of the item. Problem is, I wasn't able to see a previous callout on him that happened last year, prior to my becoming a member. Nobody took the time to post the callout in his feedback. Basically it was a great deal on a cheap item and the kid took advantage of his good placement on here, took my money, and decided to leave.

I think we need to make a separate Call Out forum...
That way the callouts won't get all mixed up in the bst.
