i have my canon DV camera connected thru USB and its turned on, yet its not connecting or letting my upload, whats the deal

because usb sucks, use firewire. usb is for stills.

i need a firewire cable pretty much? because there is no way i can upload video with the usb....?

you need a firewire pci card and a firewire cable to upload videos to your computer. i think its near $50 or so.
