this is why the occupy movement is retarded and pointless. yes there is plenty of reason to protest, (government more so than wall street) but the most all these fucking pussies can do is go form some hippie commune in the middle of some park, sit there, and bitch. its not going to get shit done.
i hate to say im advocating violence. but shit, if you want change, do something. first agree on what you want (which nobody in the occupy movement seems to be able to do) and make it happen. dont just sit on your ass and whine. get all your occupy groups from across the nation to go to DC (where they should be in the first place) and take the fucking capitol over. at the least scare the shit out of them. it shows you know what you want, and you are willing to do what it takes to force the government to change.
thats what i think the problem is, and part of the reason our government is so corrupt and fucked now. the people have let it get to the point where its not a government of the people, its the government vs. the people. and the government is turning into the enemy, yet we still expect them to handle everything for us and do whats in our best interest, that stopped happening as soon as we let politics turn into a full time profession, and the people stopped running it. and now that the people arent represented anymore, nobody is willing to do shit about it.
peaceful protests might have worked back when you and your neighbor would go play politician every year, and voice your opinion. but now politicians are extremely out of touch with the rest of the population, and only do what is in their own interest, and do as little as it takes, and make false promises so they can get re-elected.
