I know full tilts are suppose to give you no shinbang at all, i've heard of v-cutting your boot so you get no shin bang, but seriously, why did he do this? Check out the link
Shit that wasn't the best video to show all of Allen's rollerblading shit. Allen blades and it's really common for rollerblades to have v cuts. He decided that he wants to do rollerblading grinds/slides...on skis, so why not vcut your ski boots?
dude my comment i made was not sarcastic at all trust me. its extremely hard how he was doin the 360 one footer offs. i was just seein if there was another reason why he cut them up, and simba told me. thanks :)
allen, what bindings, and what DIN? I've always wanted to try doing royals or something but I feel like that's grounds for instant double eject. I have that xsjado shirt, I also have a |B|unique tal tee that i'm going to wear for the lulz. fast slides and torques are sick too.
Allen destroy rail better then anyone. And you can really tell he is a blader cuz when he skis hes got blading habits. But it look so sick. Ive seen alot from him and he is probably the best at rails. Anyone know what it is like to have v cut boots. is it harder to ski with? do you like stand straighter up? more movement in the boot?
with all do respect-allen is a good skier. but i dont think his style is that smooth and i do not feel as though he is a proper representation of the midwest. as thats what most skiers think
He's got blading style, which is why it doesn't look appealing to you, but he makes up for it with everything he does. Try doing some of the things in that video^
Scanning through old threads to look for cool ideas, this is definitely one of them! Never even heard of V-cutting a boot before. Prett extensive modification, so I'm guessing that's why we don't see it, plus no one is really skiing quite like Allen. Aha does anyone even do this anymore though?
V cut was used in rollerblading to allow you to extend your foot more without the cuff and liner digging into you calf which helps with big jumps up onto features it also allows for a little more forgiving lateral flex to the boot while still providing some support allowing you to get down into grinds like royale and front and backslides easier. So for skiing it would reduce the overall support you get from your boot but allow you to point your tips easier without as much knee movement which would be good for grinds as shown by allan but i feel it wouldnt be as good for jumps but im interested as to what allan has to say about his experience with them.
