Volkl walls or Atomic Punx

I know they are pretty different skis but I can't decide. I am fairly new to skiing so I don't really know how I feel about stiff skies (i've only skied masterminds). Are softer skis better for an intermediate skier? I am 6'2'' and 155 lbs, do 50/50 jumps and rails, and spend most of my time in the park. I also would like them to be bulletproof and price doesn't really matter. I know it probably doesn't make a difference for a skier at my level but any advice would help. Thanks

they're both fairly stiff skis, punx a little softer...

i rode walls as my first park ski in 160cm (im 5'9) and i loved them. symmetrical is boss for skiing switch as well, i ski switch about 50% of the time now, even on groomers etc. thats probably the biggest difference between the two... and maybe if you ski switch a lot then the walls will be a better choice.

however, you cant go wrong with either skis. and to be honest, i havent ever seen a pro ride walls, whereas punx do get ridden by pros... i just dont think volkl has a great park team or something!

dont listen to this kid.... he has no idea what he is talking about... the walls are a lot stiffer than the punx. my t halls are a pretty buttery ski and are stiffer than the punks. and i believe they are both symetrical.. this kids obviously dumb

They are both symmetrical skis, walls are stiffer then the punx. Also, heard lots of good things about the walls.

Do you guys think I would do better on a stiffer ski? I know they are both really good skis, I just cant figure out whether to go stiff or soft.

stiff or soft is preference. people are gonna say if you do jumps get a stiff ski and if you do rails get a soft ski. I say nonsense, if you can stick a landing, you can stick a landing. Although if you're really heavy you might want a stiffer ski but I doubt you're that heavy where you're in dager of breaking a pair cause of flexing them too much. plus if you watch the video with the guy trying to break the punx I think you'd find it pretty hard anyway.

It depends 100% on your skiing style. Softer skis tend to be more playful for rails and buttering and just jibbing around in general, but they aren't as stable and don't hold an edge as well as stiffer skis. If you're not sure what you like, then you probably haven't skied too wide of a variety of skis, which leads me to believe you're more of a beginner, in which case a softer, more forgiving, playful ski would be better, although tons of beginners learn on stiff skis, and you see pros on buttery skis all the time. Just what do you see yourself doing?

p.s. I might be totally wrong about the you being a beginner thing, that was just a guess.

Yeah I have only been skiing since january. The only skis I've ever been on are the masterminds (don't even get me started...). I would classify myself as making the transition to an intermediate skier. Right now I'm learning my 5's and 270's on/off. I don't really see myself just buttering around everywhere I go, but I would like to be able to play around. My roommate has S4s, are the walls going to be stiffer or as stiff as them? I'm assuming the Walls will be better all mountain too?

I'd say the walls are a bit stiffer than s4s. They'll definitely be better all mountain skis than punx...S4s vs walls is disputable; either would be good.

Just get a pair of atomic infamous and a pair of volkl walls and swap them out , atomic for railsand butter and volkl for jumping .. then you have both of best worlds but that's just my.02
