i never really understood the 5 valve / cyl thing. i usually only see them on the newer 4stroke dirtbikes. i think honda 250+ crfs are the only 4 valves left.

and heres the reason I'm gonna be in college till im 27. I think the modifications are tasteful on the outside. That is a 2000 Ferrari 360 but a company named Koenig modifies high end sportscars and makes them very very fast also improved cornering and braking ability.

Yeah you could build a faster car cheaper that will go fast in a straight line. that is a racing car it bleeds speed at roughly 85 mph per second of threshholding braking. Its super expensive because of the materials its made out of giving it very strong and light frame which improves is acceleration and braking and handling characteristics. I doubt you could build something that will beat it on a racetrack for much cheaper aside from the cost of labor and Ferrari name.

what about the McClaren F1? it use to be the fastest street legal car and at 1 million dollars it costs less than that F50. dont get me wrong though cuz i love the F50 and would take one over the F1 but i do believe that an F1 is faster than that car. but please feel free to prove me wrong

They are pretty compareable it says the mclaren base price startes at 890,000 but one was sold for 1.3 mil in the paragraph above that. The mclaren is a sweet ass car but you cant pick a girl up in it so it loses points there.

yeah thats where i found all my info ice. so anything i tell you you already know. i just saw that the F1 is .1 seconds faster in the 0-60. but neither are faster than the Hennessey venon viper TT which would be my ultimate pick though very difficult to actually get

Yeah its not all about speed though I love a good handling car personally. Although flooring it in my dads vette was a lot of fun but it turns out the car didnt handle that well ( my dad drove it off a bridge ) and hes a damn good driver.

^is he dead? Anyway, to answer the question about valves. There are five valves per cylindar. Two or three (I cant remember) of the valves are the intake, meaning they are where the gas-air mixture comes into the cylindar when the piston is moving down. Then, the piston moves up, and near the top the mixture is ignited, and the expanding gases push the piston down. On the way back up, the exhaust from the explosion is pushed out the exhaust valves (again, I cant remember if there are two or three) and the process is repeated, very quickly. Basically, the more valves, the better the engine can breath, creates more air exygen in the gas-air mixture, which thus creates much more horsepower. Plus, with TWO turbos pumping even more air in there, the compression must be ginormous.

So, most lower performance engines have 3 valves, and a little higher performing engines have 4 valves. If a V-8 has four valves, you might see '32 Valve', which is just a way for the manufacturer to say 'This engine is better than a 24 Valve'. Get the Idea?

Anyway, cars will very rarely have 5 valves per cyclindar. It is often used in motorcycles, which sometimes even have 6, as they are very fast, high revving engines, but only the most high performance cars in the world have 5 valves per cylindar.

As simple as I can make it. Anyone else care to give it a try?

well skia I plan on living in a trailer when I grow up with some exotics parked out from because I worked out how much I will make and those are my choices really nice house or really nice cars. What the hell am I going to do with 5 bathrooms? It'll be a pain in the ass to keep a big house clean and I would prefer to have fast toys.

the sickest part about the mcclaren F1 is that the driver's seat is set in the dead center of the car, like a formula one driver would be. they say the feeling of control and being at one with car almost as if it is an extension of your body is unreal. And there is a passenger seat on either side, so you can site next to two chicks at the same time, while driving.

Yeah I'd say the enzo is probably in the top 5 of the highest tech production car ever built. I think it would be a blast to drive but I dont necessarily like the looks. I realize the entire shape is function related (aerodynamics, cooling, exc.) but I think it just looks a bit weird.

well to compare, the skyline is made by Nissan and has to be imported from Japan so its kinda an unfair comparison. It does however have a twin turbo inline 6 and all wheel drive

no the mclaren f1 was 1 million pounds is how much it cost, there was a faster car though, i think it was a bugatti, but even the enzo isn't faster than those

I have an F50 and I only paid like $20 for it. Mine's yellow though and it's 1/18th the size of a drivable car.

Where did you get your specs on the Mclaren? I'm pretty sure that Jag had the fastest car in the world at 218mph (I have an xj220 too) then a few months later Mclaren came out at 231. I think the F1 that toped out at 240 was just a prototype.

supercars.net is where i found the fastest 0-60 times but i dont think that has been updated in a while. i would try and find something new maybe through road and track or car and driver magazine

again about the lancer evo MR edition...when it's stock it has 285 bhp and 295 lb ft or torque. 0-60 in 4.3 and it can reach excess of 111 mph in 4th gear (6 gear manual). Accelerates like a ferrari 360 modena and handles like a porsche gt2...it just doesnt look as good.
