some kid just posted this and i thought id share with you guys. i think this is absolutely rediculous and drakes new album is complete garbage.

i would go out on a limb that 95% of musicians yeah they "live" for music and all that stuff, but once you consider yourself a professional musician, you are probably in it for the money.


its like saying ON3P or surface or whatever are "cool" brands and just trying to push the sport. in fact, they want to make money with it.


get your head out of your asses guys. every business wants to make money, and to be so brainwashed to believe this is not the case is pretty awesome.

Just going to point out that rappers are hardly musicians. I would say a good rapper is more of a poet... the musicians are the people who wrote the songs that the rappers loop until their poem is up.

And if they didn't sample someone, it is their producer who is good.

And if they didn't have a real producer, let's be honest - they loop four bars of a midi track.

I like rap... but I have trouble calling them great musicians.

Drake is actually distancing himself quite a bit from the mainstream. Most rappers try to go for that hard "gangster" style with screaming and shit like Waka Floka. Instead, he uses smooth low-key production, even recruiting people like The Weeknd, who is an amazing underground rnb artist from toronto with a lot of hype and the furthest thing from mainstream.

Also, Drake's smooth sound has influenced a shitload of artists production-wise.

I actually love the album. It's all personal preference though.

On another note...I recommend you all listen to Childish Gambino's album Camp that was released on the 15th as well. You will not be disappointed.

i hate drake. not because hes mainstream, just because his music fucking sucks. I mean maybe if he rapped about something relevant to my interests i would listen to him. But, i don't really care about how much money he has, or the amount of women on his dick. and that goes for a lot of mainstream rappers.
