NBA Season in Serious Jeopardy

NBPA rejected the current CBA proposal. The 2011-12 season is more than likely cancelled. Players are even filing and antitrust case against the NBA. I think it's disgusting how they couldn't come to an agreement when it's the fans that take the biggest hit. Going to be hard for the league to come back from another cancelled season.

I know i can't be the only one who's pissed.



Not to mention my Lakers won't be able to make another run until Kobe's knees are another year older.

Very much agree. That's why the fans take the big hit. NBA is my favorite professional sport and it sucks to think we are going to miss an entire season. And Dirk and the Mavs might have to wait another year to defend their title, that blows.

thats what i was thinking as well. There are a lot of people behind the scenes who make games happen, all of whom are now probably making roughly half of what they should if the arena has an nhl team at least.


If the mlb season were to be canceled, I'd be essentially out of work.

Almost every single arena holds more events than just basketball and other sports. Concerts and other huge events keep these people with jobs in these stadiums that ALWAYS have to be maintained. But that's not what this thread is for.

Again, this sport is here for the sole purpose of entertaining the public. This was not meant to be a shitstorm, but those seem to follow you to every thread. Jordan/Kobe debate? Seriously?

Wow you're self-centered. Yes, basketball is there to entertain the public. But that has nothing to do with the fact that people losing their jobs are hit way harder than you. You can now just flip to a different channel, or go outside and do something to be entertained. It's not exactly easy to find a new job for a year when you all of a sudden lose it...

I just wish they had come to this conclusion 6 months ago so that the Morris twins wouldn't have left KU early. We lost 2 lottery picks and now they aren't even gonna get paid.

exactly. But I hate the NBA and im glad there probably wont be a season so guys in college stay there to make it more exciting. The morris twins were dank, loved watching them play at allen. And we would be such a boss team if they would have stayed this year.

KU=Kansas
UK= Kentucky

We play Kentucky tomorrow at MSG, number 1 and 2 on the all time wins list. Duke and MSU play before us, would be a sick event to have tickets to. I hate Duke but I like coach K if thats possible.

Well I can tell you from my own experience that for every baseball game at Fenway, there's roughly 1500 total employees, the majority of which are food vendors (which is actually a different company.)

But then you if you go into the broadcasting, there's all the people who work that specific sport. That's a whole lot of people right there.


Agreed though...no making money vs. not being entertained for a few hours weekly isn't even comparable.

Alright, I'm over this thread. All i was trying to get across was that I'm really disappointed that there will probably not be a season. What i meant was that the fans take a hit that the players and owners don't. Never meant to come across with an "everyone else can suck it" attitude. I get these people are out of work. I was coming from a fans perspective.

Phrase one thing wrong and everyone ignores the rest. Almost forgot why i didn't post for 4/5 years.
