According to this article there were two fatalities today, first one being Jamie, and second one being a snowboarder - hence the confusion.

Sorry to dub post, but when I saw him drop that huge cliff online for the first time I literally showed like everyone I knew, even my grandfather, he thought it was nuts.

jamie snowboards sometimes early season. there were not two fatalities. i've seen him not too far from where it looks like this happened at a similar point in the season riding a board.

I am in complete shock right now. This hits home more than any other pro, and just as much as a family family member. I had the opportunity to meet Jamie many many times when working at the Bird. I remember taking laps and trying to keep up with him. And when working at the Chickadee lift, he would be lapping it with his little daughter as she would give a high five every time.

I have chills just thinking about this. SIP Jamie, you were one hell of a good skier, and an even better person.

And i wont until i see an official report, im shocked how something could happen like this who was so adept to adept to mountains and avy terrain in particular.

Its extremely sad to see these guys go, and makes me wonder if its really worth it. I know Jamie, CR, shane, arny, and others have created legends that will live on forever.

True pioneers, always sticking to skiings core, and pushing it to the limits.
