I have definitely heard tampon and vodka in the same sentence before. I don't know why that is so unexpected. "hey, i'm going to town to buy tampons and vodka." "I drank a lot of vodka and lost my tampons" Not all that abnormal. Seems to me like two things you might hear in the same sentence a lot in college.
