Im buying new pair of Oakley Ambush Goggles and cant decide whether to get the black or fire iridium lens. Which would be a better all day lens and which one would be more reflective? I really dont know which one to get
The fire iridium is for a brighter day and sunnier day then the black iridium, I believe that in terms of lowest amount of light into your eye the fire iridium will allow less into your eye. The fire iridium is also more reflective than the black but, obviously the black is more thug. So really depends on the conditions your most in. I have oakleys fire iridium and I've used electric black iridium even if it's called that. I personally like fire better
Also, my jacket is black, fluorescent yellow, and silver and i have fluorescent yellow pants with a black helmet so i dont know which one would look better
honestly, i used my fire iridium all of last season in all conditions. It was not the best, but it worked. When it was snowing visibility was at a bare. Never actaully tried it at night but i doubt it would be any better then during snow. If you have the choice to get an all around lense (a one goggle quiver) get the pink iridium
I have pink Irid for my all condition lense. and it works great for everything.
Fire irid will be great on sunny days but shitty in all other conditions and absolutely terrible at night. Im pretty sure black irid would also be pretty shitty in flat light/foggy condition although ive never tried it.
The only lens choice is have is black iridium, fire iridium, and permission. Which iridium would be better for night park skiing? and also I have an old pair of Oakley O frame goggles with a yellow lens that I could use at night but would it just be smarter for me to buy a $20 replacement lens for my ambushs'?
Black iridium. Fire is very dark when it's not super sunny out, i use the ruby clear and it's orgasmic but the best option from your choices is black irid.
go black iridium since it will be better once the sun sets and gets cloudy. If i were you i would then proceed to purchase a ruby clear or pink iridium or hi yellow.
yup... lol i didnt bring any other lenses to the mountain because i didnt think i would be competing, couple nice falls, but cheaaa, they wenr that bad.
i used clear during blue bird so many times last year. Its actually my preference but the black irids are pretty cool. Mine are more brown then black but still alright. Fire irid sucks imo.
My problem is that the goggles that I found only have black iridium, fire iridium or permission lenses and I really cant find any goggles with ruby clear lenses that are affordable....less than $150 so could someone maybe find goggles for me with them?
Solution: look for some used crowbars/splices/IOs/EG2s/whatever else floats your boat on the sell/trade forum. A lot of the time you can find a very decently priced, almost new version of whatever it is you're trying to buy. Guaranteed less money than anything you can find on google shopping.
none of the iridium's will be good for night, permisiion will work the best but if you are doing night skiing and day skiing go with a ruby or a pink iridium as stated before
