Working at T&L is great, discount is awesome, you get to know some reps, good environment. Just make sure you learn your stuff and please learn how to boot fit properly.

Yah i really dont wanna boot fit unless i had to. I dont want to be the reason somone has a miserable season cause i had no clue what i was doing when sizing boots.

Its not that hard to learn, if you know the basics you can just get them to try on a ton of different boots and they'll know which on fits best. Theres no shame in getting a more experienced staff to reassure the customer with a second opinion though.

tbh boot fitting is super easy its just learning what brand fits what foot. Hardest part is assuring the customer that they have the right fit and they shouldnt go a size bigger. Also getting kids to realize their 107mm wide foot will not be comfortable in a 99mm full tilt...

They have been hireing a retarded amount of people for the barrhaven location. Literally everyone i know whos handed in a resume has gotten a job, some didnt even have to do interviews. I always thought of T and L as some where that was hard to get a job.

alot of new stores will hire alot of people when opening so that they can get a feel of who will work out better for them in the long run ie. who sells the most, whos a slacker and whos not, who knows their stuff, who they like and who they dont.

Im not saying this is the reason they are doing this but its a possibility

Mostly seasonal. Theyre hiring a bunch of staff for the beginning then weeding people out like that.

For god sakes learn how to boot fit. Enough of the work we do at bank is fixing the mistakes from other stores. Be polite, know how much a customer needs to know (not everyone cares about some crazy technology, they just want it to work). What else, learn all your gear, not just one section, that way if your selling skis and a customer asks about jackets you can continue to help them.

I've been talking to him for a month and a half and I still don't have a single shift, its getting a bit ridiculous, I call, email, and talk to him in person at least once a week.
