I really can't decide, Sammy is so well rounded and kills it in every aspect of the sport, but Henrik has come so far in one season with everything he's done with Inspired and B&E, such a tough choice

This. Sammy worked his ass off and did soo well in comps and with filming. Henrik killed it just as hard and was on another level off skiing. They both should get the award.....

On another note, Im voting for Henrik. Yes Sammy is probably more of a well rounded skier then Henrik, but theres something about sammy i cant stand. Yes i know hes a fucking awesome skier, i just strongly dislike him. maybe his hair reminds me of shaun white or something, or maybe every clip of sammy i watch, half the time his mouth is open. CLOSE YOUR GOD DAM MOUTH AND SKI. that is all.

Why do people think "skier of the year" means "which of these guys do you like better in general"? This should be no contest. The only way there would be a contest would be if Sammy was against Petit or Dane or Hjorliefson or Parker maybe.

Realistically the notion that Henrik could even get this far over the rest of competition shows what a suck dick format Freeskiers SOTY is.

The competition should be called "Who are 12 year old's on NS fingerbanging their assholes to this year."

henrik deserves this years title, he was injured and still did a sick performance, filmed, edited and had alot of fun, and throwing a SICK bio 14 in bigair just tops it

Henrik hands down. Sammy dont got shit on his jumps and certainly not rails and thats before we talk about style. I dont mean that to hate on sammy either, hes got mad skill, but in my eyes Henriks on his own level.

I can't understand this attitude. Henrik is a park/urban skier but he's certainly at the forefront of pushing skiing in a certain direction, it happens to be the direction a lot of freeskier/ns fans like.
What I don't get is, why when NS (the park/jibby/urban bit) fans out over a certain skier its "fingerbanging arseholes" but when the i ski pow and eat granola members fan out over big mountain skiers then thats somehow superior? Its all people's opinions isn't it?
I'd rather ski pow than park, and if I could have picked a winner I probably would have picked someone other than Henrik or Sammy but I can see why they are both there. Personally I think Sammy should have won it last year, when ignoring his X-games gold, I'd say he had a better year than he did this year.

agreed, his style is just immense, not a bad word on sammy either, he is just awesome aswell., but then i just think henrik deserves this title

Sammys been killing it for years and had a sick year this year winning x games and on top of the hood was sweet! Every edit that Henrik puts out is an absolute pleasure to watch, however I think Sammy deserves it on his overall successes this year. Big fan of both of them though!

Sammy is sick and yes I would choose to ride pow over park any given day however watching Henrik is something else.. The guy invents new axis', new ways to pop, press, and butter every other week and has countless kids emulating his style and tricks all over the world. I have yet to see him do a trick without flawless style. It's sad that many of you can't see past his style of clothing and see the originality he has brought to our sport. Watching him in competitions and edits is refreshing and gets me stoked on skiing. My vote goes to Henrik

this is SKIER OF THE YEAR. sammy tripled 2 years ago. henrik had a better year, made his own film project, did a bunch of new tricks, had some good comp results. nose butter double?
