F.I.S. really coming through for snowboarding, not
I miss the old days when the courses weren't just build for huge jump, random jibs, Two huge jobs. I feel like they have gotten more creative in some ways, but less in others
"Meanwhile, on the freestyle ski side, the FIS appears to be working beautifully with freeskiing's organizing body, the AFP, to develop a new set of judging rules that works for both parties."
Didn't catch that, just read the lead and some of the points each side was looking for.
I am also extremely fucked up on cough medicine and throat lozenges and as I think I have contracted the swine flu or something. Sooooo fucked, can't even swallow./end whining
Whichever it goes, I hope the snowboarders do what's right for the sport... at this point, I'm not even sure what that is. I'm glad I'm not in their shoes right now, this is a tough call.
Sounds like the inaugural snowboard Olympic halfpipe again. Terje is pissed. Just a few days ago he posted something along the lines of "hope the freeskiers aren't as stupid as the snowboarders" in terms of caving in to the FIS bureaucracy.
So, I guess the point is that top-level snowboard slopestyle competitors will either have to choose between FIS and TTR competitions... or try to do both, with an insane schedule?

Yep, and I'm not sure if everyone here follows the pro snowboarding slopestyle scene, but the TTR tour is killing it. Their competitions have sweet courses, the top tier pros, and I personally love their judging format.
For those that aren't in the know, their format is as such: Say you have a 6 hit slope course, well there are 7 judges, one judge for each feature, and one judge for overall flow. Personally (because my opinion matters highly in this area), I think FIS/IOC is making a huge mistake not allowing the TTR events to count towards the ranking/qualifying for the Olympics. Get of your high horse and look at the big picture, geez.
