The prediction is for a weak system La Nina with not as much snow as last year but no much higher than usual
warm water has not been as prominent on the coast of Alaska and west of that as it was last year leaving the 2010-2011 to be set alone in history for at least 1 yr.
where did you get this "prediction"? Snowfall is all prediction, don't get ya hopes up, what falls is what falls.. but, la nina has nothing to do with the water in Alaska, but the water temp at the equator.. I think we're gonna get a great winter in Tahoe with more snow then we've ever had.. and why would anyone think otherwise... positivity is golden
Meteorologist and weather people is some skill, all luck. They make so much bullshit and hype shit up so much. People want to knwo if were going to have al a ninia year? Well, were going to have to fucking wait. There is no way of predicting for the most part. Some years it dumps, other years it doesn't.
you have no idea what youre talking about. meterologists have and incredible amount of skill and reliability. yes they cant predict things 100% of the time, but they are spot on the majority of it.
pretty sure its happening, wether or not it will result in the massive amounts of snow again isnt entirely sure, but i saw a picture of sea surface temp radar the other day, and there is definitely a massive amount of warm water in the pacific, so El Nino is definitely happening.. odds are La Nina will follow.
