Gamestop trade in help

hey guys im trying to figure out how the gamestop trade in works. my nearest gamestop is about 15 miles away so i dont want to make a trip for nothing. I have like 11 games that i do not care to have anymore such as: black ops, mw2, cod4, test drive unlimited 2, mx vs atv reflex, and a few others. I just want to know if there is like a limit to how many trade ins. What percentage i can get. I just want to save some money and buy either mw3 or bf3.....help

There is no limit to how many you can trade in. If youre a reawrds member i think you get a little extra for trades and i dont knoe if theyre doing it still but the had it where if you traded them in towards a certain game they gave you like an extra 10% or something. Check their website www.gamestop.com

Just checked their site if you trade in 3 games its 10% bonus , 5 games 20%, and 7 or more games 30% and if your gonna get mw3 its an extra 30%

IMO trade in is your last resort, try craigslist, NS, even ebay, and your friends before trading in, they completely rip you off. If you can last not having mw3 or bf3 for a few days its worth your while trying to sell yourself

Okay here's what gamestop will actually do:
When i preordered MW3 I traded in like 8 games, basically for every three games you trade in you get an extra 30% towards your trade in. You'll get probably on average like 10 bucks a game for every game you trade in depending on how old the game is. obviously newer games are going to fetch more. Now i don't know if you get the extra bonus still to MW3 because its out now, but i looked at my recipt and i think 3 games got my like 37 dollars. Either way you should get about 80 bucks in trade in.

like the most popular games that i have are bfbc2, mw2, mw1, halo 3, black ops

the other games are like: need for speed undercover, test drive unlimited 2 (it just basically came out, but not real popular), need for speed carbon, call of duty 3, and a couple others i cant remember at the moment

so say i want to get mw3 and bf3 maybe at the same time. both games are about $70 after tax, so retail of $140 combined. the more popular games get more money? and the others not so much and then i get the credit of trading towards mw3. do you think my getting of maybe both mw3 and bf3 affects the 30% of mw3?

Probably not, i'm thinking maybe even that possibly you could get more of a discount for getting both of them. at least when i went in the guy in front of me got both of the games and he got like a 10% discount for getting both.

Also what are your state's pawn laws? I know in Washington you have to be 18 to trade anything in, so just keep that in mind before going all the way there without being old enough

i went in the other day with three games, not knowing anything but too lazy to sell them online and two were in gamestop used cases anyway.

bringing in 3 gave me an immediate $10
skate 2 (in a gamestop case) gave me $8.43
nba street homecourt $6.32
cod: mw2 (in gamestop case, damaged) dont know how much I got for it, I think it just helped me get the $10 bonus because they weren't going to accept it until I said I recieved it from gamestop.com in the condition it was in and plays fine.

bought gta iv complete (gta 4 and episodes from liberty city in one package) and amped 3 (combined $44) and walked out paying only $18. not that bad for the horror stories from the place.

being a gamestop powerup member will get you 10% more for your trade-ins and a buy 2, get 1 coupon (at least at the store I went to) for signing up.

you should just give them a call, they're pretty easy going and they'll just tell you what each one is worth. i've done that before.


you will get more for them if you're putting the trades towards a new purchase that day in the store. sorry for repetitiveness, didn't read the posts above.

with 11 perfect condish games  and signing up to the rewards program i got mw3 and 6 given back then i bought a lightly used bf3 total spent $33. 2 top games for that is awesome

Gamestop is such a ripoff, but they make it so easy.

I just try to remind myself when they are bending me over the counter that at least I don't have to sit around for someone to buy my games off me and they are saving me a trip to the post office...

That being said, I've been selling my stuff back to Amazon through their trade-in program.

the more recent the games are the more cash you're gonna get. don't bother with sports games, they give you like 3 cents for old games
