Super shitty ending to a historic career. He already said he was going to leave at the end of the season. I think this will be a huge black eye towards Penn St. and how they handled it.

Really? Calling paterno a piece of shit is rediculous. Yes he should have contacted the authorities but he did inform the athletic director, who is his superior. If anything that man should be the one taking the blame. Paterno is one of the most respected figures in all of sports, to say that this one incident makes him a "piece of shit" Is rediculous.

Covering something like this up, is unacceptable, he could have prevented more children from getting hurt...everyone who knew about this could have stopped it...yet they all just kept their mouths shut, fucking sick bastards.

AD is responsible too, but you dont perhaps think that maybe CALLING THE FUCKING COPS INSTEAD would have been better than just mentioning this crime to the other money grubbing whores who happen to work there...

I grew up in State College, this is fucked up. He did his job by reporting to his hire ups. I cant believe they used him as a scapegoat. He deserved to finish out the season.

Paterno is most certainly not a piece of shit. Do you people realize how many fucking people on that staff couldhave reported it? Jesus christ, the guys a legend, also turned the guy in when no one else would. If anything the people calling him that are pieces of shit because they no nothing besides what the media is telling them.

Right he didn't do anything wrong? His defensive coordinator had sex with 10 year olds on campus and he knew about it and didn't report it to the authorities...I guess that isn't wrong.

I have all the respect in the world for Joe Paterno's coaching and how he built that program up, however I don't understand how you could defend him. JoePa did not turn the guy in, he brought it up once to his AD and never followed up. Would you do the same if you heard about child rape? Joe Paterno is Penn State, and despite what his position says, the AD is most certainly not JoePa's superior. Everybody that knew about it should be fired. Child rape is among the most fucked up things people do in our world. My dad had a friend growing up who committed suicide due to not being able to live with the guilt of being molested by his priest, and I'm sure this piece of shit's victims have contemplated suicide as well. How you sweep something like this under the rug amazes me.

He didnt know about rape. All he knew was what that graduate assistant told him: he saw the ex D Coordinator in the shower room with a kid and thought innappropriate things were going down.

Now ima flip this on you. If you heard your best friend did the same thing, what would you do? me, i would straight talk the dude and tell him if i ever heard about this happening again, or even got the slightest suspicion about it, i would go to the cops. BUT i wouldnt report him the first time, because i wasnt positive anything went down, and i dont wanna ruin one of my best friends life based off hearsay.

This man was a straight up homie to Joe Pa. Personally, i would do some fucked up shit for my two best friends, and i know they would do the same for me. Its not right, but it is what it is.


The right person to blame, is the grad assistant who never went to the cops wven though he was a first hand witness, and had no prior relationship with the coach...so he had no reason not to go to the cops.

exactly. joe is a legend, but im not saying that he is protected from the law, but he legaly didnt do anything wrong. joe knew there was sexualy harasment but i dont believe that he knew the extent of that sick bastard's crimes. if you were at work and you herd of sexual harasment, im saying most of you would report to your boss just like joe did.

All JoPa had to go off of was what one Grad student told him. When he found out that this was fact he reported it. My lord how NS hops on the fucking bandwagon...

he wasnt hiding it from police. he had no knowledge that a crime went down. all he knew was what a grad student told him he saw...and a very abbreviated version at that. He then followed proper procedure and reported it to his superiors.

you do realize, the guy hadnt been employed by Penn state for 4 or 5 years before the incident right? he was by no means an active coach or employee.


If a dude that you kinda knew from class, came up to you one day and told you that your really good friend since childhood had done some innapropriate things with a girl the night before, what would you do? Ask him? What if he vehementently denied it?

Everyone treats this like a black and white issue. Its not.
