That article says it all man. I like all music, I just like music. I like hip hop but not that thug shit. I don't care if you want to rock a du-rag or whatever. But don't pretend your street. Man I never want to live in the ghetto, that's not a cool place to be at all and I don't understand why you would pretend to represent it. I got lots of love for people like Danny Kass and Seth Morrison keeping it punk even though the industry sliding towards hip-hop, the trashey street kind

I'm gonna be honest here. I'm a punk. I listen to punk, and im pretty rpoud of my roots. However, i think people shpould be open to music types. Not evryone is a punk. I guess I do agree that pretending to be 'ghtto' is pretty dumb tho, because take a walk thru the ghetto, and then say thats how you'd liek to live, but still... it's their choice.

ok, i'm a punk rocker hard core beeeatch. But I've realized something, most punk sucks. they can't play insturments worth shit. But rappers don't even try at insturments. Punk need to do a turn around this 'you don't need talent just plain attitude' mentality is getting old. And most people bash bands like blink and green day saying they sold out, but when in reality they just seperated from the herd of shitty bands. On a final note, they should play clasical music not rap or punk, wait how about a little talk radio? or even salsa.

phjrosty is right. and also a lot of rappers do have lots of skill. especcally tu pac. people dont dis on people tastes of food, so why music. but there is a point when bands use propoganda to make people like the,m when there music is crap like n sync, oh thats horragle.

yeha I liek punk and rap, but seriously punk is tight and all but it requires very little musical talent. Lyircally punk can get very stale and the lyrics don't really fit into the song, they are just sort of thrown out there. Rap definitely requires a lot of skill, if you are a very skilled rapper (2pac, Biggie, eminem) I think there is as much skill involved as being a classical musician and playing an instrument. I mean to create beats then actually speak your own mind through your lyrics and tie them into a beat. Anybody who has ever tried flowing knows how difficult that is, and freestyles are just off a very simple beat or no beat at all. And don't say rappers don't get into instrumentals, a lot of rappers are going in that direction, even thoguh it is simple musicals, Dre has intergrated some of that recently. There is just a lot more into rap and so I will usually choose to listen to it over punk if it is a good rapper.
